Reason for that I think is simple, both China and USA needs range, and for that a lifting body is better, thus resulting in a flying delta wing like shaoe

Mr Kotil: "The mid-body of MMU is a whole 4 ton piece. We decided to make this part in one piece and it was produced vertically. This is an innovation and a subject to be patented. In this way, TFX MMU consists of 4 large body parts and they are combined"

Mr Kotil: "The entire body of the MMU is composite. The frames inside are made of titanium and aluminum. The composite coating on MMU has to be produced in one piece. This composite piece is produced at the 6x12m pressure furnaces in TUSAŞ composite facility"

If we compare it with TB2 and Russian airdefence who was not able to lock, how difficult it will be to find the damn fighter... :LOL:

In other words "The composite monocoque skin of the TFX is cured in 6 by 12 meter autoclaves". I didn't know they made autoclaves so big, wow.

No, i am serious. I think the plans for a one of last fighter designed by the Soviets just before the dissolution were taken from Ukraine. These plans were adapted to the needs of the 21st century with the help of British and Ukrainian senior engineers. The decision not to put automatic cannons on the plane also helped design an airplane that was easy to manufacture and time saving.
Did you see the documentary about the harrier ?

What documentary?

Anyway, my previous assumption was probably wrong. Because I learned that there will be an auto cannon with a caliber of 30x110 mm in TFX. I thought TFX wouldn't have auto cannon.

I remember a few months ago, Dr Temel Kotil complaining that after F16 production run, Tusas did not keep the staff and the expertise of serial production in house and that these capabilities were allowed to disperse and lost.
So setting up a serial production line will be a new challenge for Tusas.
But looking at today’s achievement of this prototype and it’s high standard of quality, I have every confidence in Tusas that they will come out of this challenge with flying colours too.
Our main soft belly is the engine side. Even F110 engines would make this plane a force to be reckoned with. But to obtain full potential of the plane we need dry thrust levels of 24-26000lbf from each engine. F110 falls way short of this at 16600lbf level. So the development of the indigenous engine for this plane is vital.
It’s the governments fault. They should have ensured productionline was filled enough to keep people active. Especially considering how old some of our f16 are.

Not to pop any bubbles, because we are matching up to F-35 in build innovation...

F-35B mid sections are also built vertically, see top right image;
