I couldn't find link to his speech but after first taxi test Kotil said KAAN could have flew (9 months ago) if he knew how far ahead of projections TF-X project was. He could have installed flight computer software etc back in March. So I highly doubt this "journalist" or the site who are not even aware of most basic rules of journalism.

let’s wait and see. I would love it if things around Hürjet was more clear. Like mking progress and such.

Bayraktar keeps saying Kızılelma eill be ready for mass production in 2024. Yet we don't hear about from KE as we do with TB3.

I assume tests on strategic assets are not released to the public as much.

We know Hürjet activated afterburner too but we don't know what is the current status. Right?

We know Hürjet activated afterburner too but we don't know what is the current status. Right?
It becomes redundant after a while, they might be flying them every day testing this system or that part but not all of it would make sense to the public. I think after a certain point, we would only hear about certain milestones or important events, like when weapon integration is done on KE or something like that.

They (Baykar) are working on a thing related to KE. We may all guess what it is based on tests they have conducted so far.

They are working on weapons integrations, nothing shady or secret.

What is KE worth without weapons? All these tests with different type of bombs, missiles from different weapon station and different loads will take a while. Nothing unusual!

I think KE has more than just weapon integration to be ready for the service.

Why? I might be wrong but neither TF-6000 nor the Ukranian engine they are using now has that capability as far as I can remember. Why would it be able to supercruise when the engines it does/might use doesn't have that capability?
If the engine has convergent/divergent nozzle structure and the plane is high enough with the right load, it can do supersonic speeds. Even with a convergent nozzle it can achieve supersonic speeds albeit for a short duration.
Ukrainian engine it has at the moment is already short of power. So that is out of the question. But an engine like TF6000 or AI322F(5500lbf) should provide ample power for short supersonic (at least transonic) speeds.

It is more logical to think that a 5-6000lbf dry thrust engined KE, will fly at high subsonic or even transonic speeds.

This is my expectation as well, at least at first, until it starts using TF-10000 or something similar. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the plan for 2 engined KE is with TF-10000 for supersonic speeds. And until that is ready they can LRIP this version of KE with single engine, so long as they can get the engines of course. Now that I think about it, it might even be something like KE-A with a single AI322F, KE-B with a single TF-6000 and KE-C with 2 TF-10000.

God I wish we also designed an actual fighter jet that could take advantage of using 2 TF-10000, that would give it a thrust close to Gripen. That would've made our lives so much easier.

“Being able to get engines” dilemma, can be resolved if they approached RR for the Adour engine. It can be the replacement engine until TF6000 is ready. Even Honeywell f124/125 can be considered. The Honeywell engines are both RR engines, even though produced in US. Yet Adour engines are made in Derby-UK.

2 x TF10000 engines may look like it will be an overkill for a KE aircraft. But Infact it would create a monster. Not having a pilot would be an advantage when it came to manoeuvring, and as it is a stealthier plane than a Gripen E it would make a real winner of a jet fighter.

Using 2 x TF10000 for a conventional piloted stealth fighter could have given us a light fighter with a lot of punch at a good price point. (Until TF10000 came we could have used 2 x RR Adour with AB) But somehow we went for an US engined Hurjet when we knew we may not get the engines for our fighter version!!

TAI or Baykar needs to develop a starter generator/auxiliary power unit for TF-6000 that can generate up to 50kw. Otherwise it may not be sufficient to power all those sophisticated high end avionics and sensors.

Good question. It is still not late to do so. Probably dealing with a war thorn Ukraine was easier than a RR that holds stronger cards in hand.
Since we currently have a somewhat good relation with the Britisch,it could be possible.
Lets face it,these old soviet engines(KE,ATAK 2) are not up to it.

How long have we been talking about turbine engines with the British? It's been a while, isn't it? How many RR engines have we bought, never mind built under license? "0". ZERO in writing. Pretty interesting, isn't it?

An upgrade of the TF10000 engine made with next generation turbine blade technology can be used to create capable twin engine fighters with possibly 10-15% power increase over previous generation.

How long have we been talking about turbine engines with the British? It's been a while, isn't it? How many RR engines have we bought, never mind built under license? "0". ZERO in writing. Pretty interesting, isn't it?
I'm willing to bet that it has more to with Tusaş wanting to continue using Pratt & Whitney engines which they've been not just using but building for a long time than RR's unwillingness to cooperate with us. And another bet I would happily take is that they would love to have us as customers as that would bump their market share a fair bit.
