Gentlemen, shall we keep the internal political feud out of here? This is not within the scope of this thread.

F35B is better suited given Turkish carrier doesn't have CATABOR.
F-35C has STOBAR mode (logically) if i am not mistaken. The point is F-35C can land with arresting wires, F-35B lands vertically.

Colour me shocked. Do you think there are plans for a naval version of Hürjet, or, a new (maybe smaller) naval TF-X, since we seem to be chasing this dragon come hell or high water.
It would certainly require the establishment of a new project imo.

I sometimes think left hand of our higher ups not only have no idea what the right hand is doing but also don't even realize its limitations or the task they ask of it.

Well, I'm going to put my money on 1xTF35000 powered smaller version of TF-X, after the project is completed and entered into serial production in 2030s.

Some of the things you need for a naval fighter:
Stronger body, larger and stronger landing gear, lower stall speed, higher stability at low speeds ( which probably requires reimagining the wings entirely, arrestor hook, some specialized avionics for ship approach, folding wings, corrosion resistant surfaces and structures. On top of that for a stobar on a shorter carrier you need a lighter frame and / or higher thrust to weight ratio. It also can't be massive if surface area of deck is limited even with folding wings.

I hope there will be no photos leaked of her through a potato camera. People near Mürted should contain themselves and not upload any media online. The videos and photos should be served by TAI to do justice to the majestic event.
There will be :)

Building a whole-ass carrier just for Hürjet? Don't know. This seems like buying a Porsche 911 Turbo S and swapping the engine to a renault one with 100hp.
As much as I think Hürjet will be more capable than people think and a nice lightfighter I do not think it is a aircraft you plan a carrier for your navy around.

Kaan is too big. Leaving the only option to either A. procure from another country (F-35B/C, F-18, Rafale-M, J-31) or TAI will develop a new aircraft.

There are so many question marks right now on this project, especially seeing how it won't get serious until we hit the 2030s. We can speculate but who knows what the world looks like in 10 years.
F/A-18 will be out of production soon.

A few years ago I read that KAI foresaw a navalised KF-21 being developed.

India's Tejas N proved to have inadequate capabilities for the IN and was abandoned, to be replaced by a proposed Twin Engined Deck Based Fighter design. The TEDBF may be available some time in the next decade.

Could Turkiye develop its own carrier aircraft in time for any proposed carrier?

I think there is no other option but Hürjet. Its Naval version will be made. With more advanced features like Aesa radar, stealt, lighter and more powerful engine etc.

Apart from one word (stealth) I agree with your comment. I can’t see KAAN becoming a naval asset. It is just too complicated, expensive and big to be navalised. We need to walk before we run. May be after Hurjet is adapted in to a naval form at a later date a version of KAAN may be inducted to the naval command on a bigger newer ship that will do it justice.
TAI has got their eye on Hurjet to be navalised going forward. This has been mentioned by several officials. As a trainer and especially as an acrobatic plane, it is logical to expect a very manoeuvrable jet fighter.
It may however, need to have a more powerful engine to compensate the lift deficiency the plane may encounter under full load, especially if it hasn‘t had an increase in wing area to remedy it.

With a decent version of Murad Aesa radar it will be a very capable fighter. As well as performing air to air and air to surface warfare, it will improve and enhance the defensive capabilities of the very carrier it is stationed at.

However, due to its current overall design, I doubt it will be an effective stealthy plane. Had it been designed with a delta wing one would have expected an inherent low RCS value. But it is doubtful. Yet it would however be interesting to see what the current RCS value of our Hurjet is.
