Well I do not believe 20 aircraft in the first year too, first see than believe but that production rates significantly upped cannot be a problem for our industry.
Turkish industry has crossed a threshold in production capabilities, she can easily double, triple production rates
For high quantity mass production :

1. You have to have the eco system in place - supply of outsourced parts
2. The eco system should have synchronised production rate as Tusas
3. Airforce/Defence ministry should have the necessary funds allocated

Once these are in place then the only two limiting factors left are:

1. Factory floor space available - first frame to last nut - production line.
2. Right teams and workforce that are built to meet high production rates.

Depending on the size of the last 2 points, in terms of production rates, the sky is the limit.

So I don’t understand this fixation about the number of KAANs that can be built.
Let us get the prototypes and the related tests out of the way first. Then, let us get those F110 engines. And then let us discuss when and how many planes we can build.

What was more or less an open secret has now been confirmed, TAI KAAN as the second prototype will be a tick smaller and hopefully not so compressed as a result.

Temel Kotil had said from the very beginning that the KAAN will get smaller.

I hope something moves in the near future, for me and many here in the forum 7-9 months for a new prototype is simply too much time.
I hope they can speed it up somehow.
The aircraft absolutely has to be ready as Block 0 in 2028/29, any delay could be fatal for the project.
Many outside interest groups want to see the project fail even in Turkey and I'm not just talking about DEM or PKK/YPG there are other groups that want to see it fail.

This is known!
Therefore information is very limited. I think the engineers on the "TF-X KAAN" project are moving at the right pace...

What is Block 0? Pilot training aircraft?

For the new kid on the block, I think the pace is very reasonable compared to the giants in the field. Actually would be considered record time from both TAI and Baykar if they were produced elsewhere.
I also think that we have the capacity to accelerate processes but that would mean compromising quality and safety elements.

Does anyone has more info?

Today, at the evaluation meeting of our National Combat Aircraft KAAN held at TUSAŞ facilities, our President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Air Forces Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, local company managers who contributed to the program, and our Presidency and TUSAŞ personnel came together.

TurAF officials and defense industry representatives came together at TAI facilities to evaluate the current situation of KAAN.

Although it is specific to a single platform; you can understand how special this project is when you look at the photo and see the number of faces you recognize.

The (very) strong AI acted faster than me at the moment I wrote this, but no need to delete it, it shows how extraordinary the project is.

BTW, let me give you the answer, I don't think anyone knows anything about what is being talked about, it's clear it's not a media day.

Right here is the Achilles heel!
Let's go back in time to the 1930s, what happened to the air defense industry developed by the great Nuri Demirag ...? It took Turkiye almost 80 years to get back on its feet again.
You know what?... I'm probably speculating , but I think the TF-36000lb engine is now a finished job...

This is probably about the completion of the CDR phase.
