Highly likely fake news
KAAN is still in experimental stages with only one functional prototype
How on earth will you sell such a jet?
Any deal should only be made when the first batch of KAANs are rolled out

Who will they get 5/6th gen jets from ? Chinese jets won't protect them forever because they are allies only because of India. What if China builds good relationships with India ? There's no single country other than Turkiye and China to sell them those jets and we're their historical ally. Don't forget they have 2 allies in total. Kaan is the optimal choice for them even if it doesn't appear as good as it should.

If China can build good relations with India, Turkey can do as well. Besides, however imperfect it is, we're still a democracy. A different political party could throw Pakistan under the bus. Plus our engine situation, we might not be as reliable of an ally you think we are.

I don't think hundred year alliences can be put away that easy.

I don't really know to be honest, did we ever have bad relationships with Pakistan since the Republic was found ? I mean both countries have been ruled by parties with very different opinions in the last 102 years. We were allies before the foundation of the republic tho. But I don't remember bad days between the two.

I always put so much belief in secret agreements. Those agreements are why the US can never turn back on Israel. Diaspora ? Dude US population's almost 50% is built of German/British/Irish people. Idc about 7 million jews there.

I think the same for us and Pakistan too. Current government of Pakistan was not who our government wished for and they move in the way our government don't like (conflicts with Afghanistan for example). But did we spit a single word to them ? Did the cooperation between the two countries slow down any ?

This allience has most likely been guarranteed by secret agreements decades ago and it's surpassing democracy.

All are just ideas. Not claiming anything.

Doubtful. One constant of Turkish foreign policy since 1947 is good relations with Pakistan regardless of governments in charge.

Not really, they were pretty on the fence.

Chinese jets won't protect them forever because they are allies only because of India

China won't stop supplying Pakistan regardless of their future relations with India. Pakistan however will no doubt will be a Kaan user in the future.

Some of you seem to forget that Pakistan is our only real ally.
It doesnt matter what government is in power Pakistan will always stand with Türkiye because of its people.
If we need pilots, they will send.
If we need soldiers, they will send.
If we need nukes, they will provide.

So,if they want the KAAN they will get the KAAN.

I guess it depends a bit on what Pakistan deem as good relations. Would they view it as betrayal if were to build good relations with India?
What if China demanded them to do something that goes directly against our interests and threatened them with economic sanctions if they didn't comply?

There has to be a line somewhere since these nations consist of different nationalities, histories and different geopolitical circumstances.

No,the only way pakistan would feel betrayed is if our government changes its position on kashmier.

What if China demanded them to do something that goes directly against our interests and threatened them with economic sanctions if they didn't comply?
No chance of that ever happening since pakistan is the only country able to help them against india in case of a war between China and india.

Sorry for posting a meme here, but it really explains it, we will find a way to give Kaans to Pakistan and it's a good thing.

Any reason why Kaan should be built in Pakistan, rather than be supplied from Turkiye? I read here and there of a plant being planned for Pakistan.

Pakistan is one of the closest allies of Turkey and i suspect they do this so Pakistan also gets some know how and also expand/scale the production of Kaan, i doubt that critical componenets will be produced in Pakistan, think it like giving some work to ally countries in F35 meanwhile holding the critical electrical component for domestic production like scenario.

Here comes the first official delay, as it was expected.
Not really TAI themselves said that the first 20 Block 10 4.5 gen would be delivered in 2028 although I also doubt that but serial production with the domestic engine is planned for 2032

I'll leave the detail to others who are better informed. In short, the aircraft that flew a year ago was not originally intended for flight. Later this year the next prototype should be completed.

Apart from that, we must honestly recognize that we are not the USA & China who invest between 300-900 billion USD per year for defense forces and projects and juggle these funds like peanuts.
With what we have 45-50 billion USD a year + 10-20 billion USD from the SSB special fund, Turkey has really developed different weapon systems in a resource-saving way and has various projects going on, both in aviation, navy and ground.
