I don't think France would okay selling Meteor AAM to Turkey, but let's see.

So, there is a chance that, a batch of 12 EF2000 tranch 3+ fresh from the assembly line (meant for Qatar) could be diverted to Türkiye?

That have been the talk for the last week. Not clear if it will happen or sides agreed to it tho. It's getting tiresome to follow the tidbits.

I highly doubt Qatar will give up their planes and delay further procurement for years. Contrary to the propaganda, Qatar is not our ally. They buy defense products from us, they buy our defense companies, and they buy protection from the Turkish military. This is a transactional relationship, not an alliance. They are also training with the Greek Air Force, whose main job description is attacking Turkey.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz has defended arms exports to Turkey and sees progress in the potential delivery of Eurofighter combat aircraft. “Turkey is a NATO member, and therefore we often make decisions that lead to concrete deliveries,” Scholz said on Saturday in Istanbul after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “This is self-evident, and we have made such decisions recently. There will be more to come,” he added.

The German government recently approved more arms exports to Turkey than in the past, which has drawn criticism from parties such as the Left and the BSW due to human rights violations in Turkey.

When asked whether Germany supports delivering Eurofighters to Turkey, the Chancellor only stated that there are some projects “that are still in the early stages.” He noted that the British government is advancing negotiations on the Eurofighter, which have just begun.

Imagine we agree to buy Eurofighters, pay a few billion dollars in advance, and just like with our F-35s, they don’t deliver the planes and keep the money.

23 billion for F-16s, 5.6 billion for 40 Eurofighters? Turkey could of replaced entire fleet with F-35s at that price tag

We are NOT getting just F-16s for that price. If we indeed buy that whole package we are getting jets, upgrade kits, engines, missiles, EW suites, spare parts and other miscellaneous stuff. There is a good chance we will not buy everything we asked for, but even if do, we would be buying stuff that air force needs to continue properly using their existing F-16s, on top of the new jets.

There is a good chance we will not buy everything we asked for, but even if do, we would be buying stuff that air force needs to continue properly using their existing F-16s, on top of the new jets.

We will most likely buy every equipment we asked(maybe not logistic support stuffs) for but it will not cost 23 billion....more likely 10-12 billion $

We have one member thinking it is going to cost us 8-12 billion, another member thinking 10-12 billion.

There is a page full of equipment that are listed there. Also ammunition, integration cost of that ammunition, technical know how and other miscellaneous stuff that only the Turkish airforce know about.

In order to even guess how much of that we will buy and how much that will cost, one needs to be a member of the team that is negotiating with the US and the equipment manufacturers.

We are crying out because they are sitting on our 1.2-1.4 billion dollars. Then the margins of error of our members’ guesstimates are double or triple that amount.

If any guesstimates are to be made it has to come from concrete basis and with knowledge of what our airforce really needs.

Greece and Taiwan are upgrading their F16 fleets to V70. We can draw similarities and analogies as to what the cost ”may be”.

Again Taiwan and a number of other countries are purchasing F16V70 planes. We can do the same and draw similarities.

At 63 million a piece naked according to open sources, the F16 planes are 2.4 billion dollars. Greece paid 2.4 billion for 123 upgrade kits.

But it has to be remembered that each country’s needs and demands are different and the level of equipment and weapons will vary.

At this stage, all we are privy to is that ; there is a 23 billion dollar package from which we will pick and choose what we want.

With the mentioned C-130J purchase and extra A400 order, I don't think air force would be interested in a similar sized aircraft. We absolutely will need a CN-235 replacement in the next decade however.
We need a replacement for CASA Cn-235 from the very beginning, after these aircraft were put into service, because they were not suitable for what the Turkish Armed Forces had specified.

Air Force already had a plan 6-7 years ago for a larger aircraft, Genel Maksat Uçağı(GMU) program to acquire 6 CN-295 and C-27J were both supposed to be participants but program was cancelled I believe.

I always liked the CN-235. We got them to basically replace DC-3s. We have nearly 50 in service in the air force alone. They proved to be real work horses for any transport missions between bases over the last 3 decades. Suffice to say we probably outgrew them at this point.
in a Cn-235 you get nothing but soldiers. you can't even get an F110 engine in. If you absolutely want to transport an F16 engine with these Cn235s, the rear ramp has to stay open. And a transport of the F16 engine was set by the Turkish Armed Force as one of the conditions.

Nevertheless, Cn-235 was accepted with a lot of bribes

when push comes to shove, Germany pays a very high price. But very high ones. Their faltering economies suffer more than Turkish ones. German industry is dependent on parts from Turkey. In the first months of exile, half a million Germans would lose their jobs.

that would first bring down your no longer sustainable pension systems and health insurance systems. Germany is no longer like the old one. Germany is always falling behind, even in the sectors in which they are very strong.

and they know it and they know it too: Turkey is the key.

Let's start with SIEMENS first.

Preparations for this are already being made by Turkish industry. KOC Family has already started with the measures.

And the CMV-22 was to fulfil the role of carrying F135 engines in full configuration but it can't do that as well. Issues happen at procurement all the time. 235s may not be able to carry F110s, but they are worked to death in all matter of duties for the last 40 years.
