The fastest amphibious vehicle in the Turkish Armed Forces, ZAHA, has a 12.7 mm machine gun and a 40 mm grenade launcher weapon system. With a personnel capacity of 21, #ZAHA has all the features that a military land vehicle and sea vehicle should have.

Capable of swimming from ship to land, from land to ship, and from island to island, ZAHA has an important place as a force multiplier in the amphibious operations of our Naval Forces Command.

ZAHAs, produced locally and nationally by Turkish engineers, have the ability to right themselves at sea even if they capsize in difficult sea conditions.

TSK needs to buy more Zahas for the Amphibious Corps and for the Aegean Army units near the coastline. There are countless islands inside the 15nm range. Zahas can be used independently without the need of LSTs or ships like TCG Anadolu for those near coast islands.

Doubt it for the time being, navy wanted the 40mm+50 cal combo as it gives the most ammo+ area effect. Surely FNSS can add another RCWS per customer needs if required as Caka RWS is not that special, maybe save for being a bit navalized. I don't see why Protector 50cal+Javelin or Trakon 30mm couldn't be installed.

I highly doubt it but we might see light turrets with higher caliber like Venom LR 30mm.

The weight of zaha turret is limited due to its amphibious characteristics. It would lose its balance or submerge too much otherwise

An amphibious assault is one of the most complex military undertakings there are, where every thing is working against attacker's disadvantage. Unmanned systems may help share the burden in 15-20 years, but I don't see it ever being unmanned to be honest.

2 years ago Aselsan showed m113 variants that could carry 2-3 Aselsan Aslan light UGV and charge the at the same time which could work for 7 hours with its electrical power.

Does Anybody know which warship will have it? Since Göksur is totally autonomous and replaceable, Could Göksur revive air defense capacity of old frigates for instance Gabya class?

South Korea did an exercise last year

it was including six warships, three aircraft, three assault amphibious vehicles, and around 30 unmanned surface vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles

Phases were as follows;

- UAVs scouting the landing area

-USVs carrying out mine-hunting operations to eliminate possible underwater threats

-UAVs conducting strikes on simulated enemy targets

-suicide drones attacking coastal artillery.

-troops entering the target area with helicopters, assault amphibious vehicles and landing craft

It was more a demo show than an actual drill at the sidelines of MADEX 2023 in Busan.

Dunno how the camera guys managed to use such a wide angle lens that even our big ass Marado (Dokdo class ship) looks like a RC toy in the background. Everyone was joking about it.

The MUM-T program with various USV, UAV, UUV called Navy Sea GHOST (네이비 씨 고스트) is a serious future concept.

I mean, this is how you make stylish PR clips by Hanwha for Sea Ghost USV.

Sadly Hanwha lost the Navy tender to LIG Nex1 range of various Sea Sword USVs.

According to MEE, Turkey is "planning to deploy two frigates and additional auxiliary ships" in Somalia to guard Orucreis survey ship which will be deployed to Somalia next month.

This is almost 15% of our frigate force. Hisars can't come quick enough.

Will they pass from the Red Sea? If so, it will be interesting to watch.

Doubt it, but we'll see. 2 Tuzlas that were sent to Qatar recently were transported on a ship that traversed Good Hope. Maybe they'll run the gauntlet, it would be interesting to watch. In that case, I'd expect at least one Gabya to be sent. If they'll traverse, both probably will be Gabyas.

As it was announced and as I thought, 2 Gabyas, and the 9000 tons TCG Ütğm Arif Ekmekçi will be accompanying Oruçreis to Somalia, forming the "Somalia Naval Task Group". No announcement on the route, but I'm still thinking they will traverse the cape. Both Gediz and Gökova are Genesis ships and are equipped with Smart-S radars and Mk-41 VLS. We will be down 2 capable air defence platforms for an unspecified length of time. TCG Ekmekçi was commissioned this year and I think this will be her first real deployment.
