Manned or unmanned?

Manned. No info if its modification of an existing aircraft or an aircraft project. Maybe based on regional aircraft project?

Kubilay Yildirim got very good point on UAVs. Current UAV capability are the most effective against half-sophisticated power until the trigger is pulled. In a way it provides like open source intelligence. For example, you can surveillance ships if they have ready for war, behavior etc.

Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft Project exists

I remember that our navy was looking for something like P8 poseidon. If Tusas is capable to turn a boeing or airbus airplane in to something like the p8 why not.

There isn't much options to be honest, it is either P-8 which is nearly impossible to get, P-1 which Japanese are not going to export soon, or A-319 which is an airbus project yet to mature.
Lately they have collaborated for equipping C-295 and offering in exports, they might let Turkey in A-319.

I don't think they will let us in, the current situation with Greece and Libya as a reason.

To add to this:

- Turkish navy is planning to induct 3 AEW helicopters.
- Work underway to control UAV's from MPA's through SatCom.
- Temren project (L-UMTAS). First SH-70 helicopter was sent to Aselsan for integration. First delivery expected in 1st half of 2022.
- Navy wants to have enough (21 extra) SatCom UAV's to have constant monitoring capability of all the surrounding seas by the end of 2023.
- SH-70 helicopters to be upgraded with national FLIR systems to replace AN/AAS-44.
- Primary target of Navy air command is to have fighter aircraft in the future to serve on LHD's and aircraft carrier.

I have always thought that P-235 was a solid pick because Indonesia can make those planes (CN235) and we will have our own defence industry equip it with the necessary systems. Even if it is a short/medium term solution the knowhow we'd gain could be utilized to fit bigger planes. Remember that Brazil is among the few countries in the world that have a airplane industry because they sent shitload of engineers to US to study and come back to Brazil.

Actually we have got the planes from CASA, TAF-TAI did involve at certain sections, local production/assembly and major design reviews. We did bring some collaboration offer to Indonesia years ago but it didn't quite catch their attention.
TAF-TAI know this plane very well, so i think it won't be a real matter to equip those with our own systems beyond this point.

Perhaps Indonesia would reconsider considering China's latest moves. We should probably try contacting them again. I mean even Philippines could have benefits from such an airplane. Although I don't know if US is doing it for them.
