It is claimed that this Poll requested by President's Office before starting negotiations.

First of all, research does not mention demonym of attenders, saying public poll is too broad. In case of an referandum only citizens will use vote. Are they citizens, residents or just people on the street. Half of the people in the streets are not citizens.

Currently I can give some close figures about our population. Total Population of TRNC is around 382,000 (as officially known), 130k - 150k of these are Turkish Cypriots (majority are also citizens of South) 30K - 50k are Turkish Settlers and their descendants who came island between 1975-1980 who are also citizens / double citizens. Further 100k to 150k are also Turkish Citizens who came after 2000s some are also citizens (not majority), most of them are residents but this also includes soldiers, their families, students so at least 50k are temporary coming and going. At least 10K -15k british, close to 10k Russian, 1000 swedish, Greek Cypriots Maronites, foreign permanent residents are around 25K to 50k. Foreign workers and students majority from Nigeria and Pakistan, 50k to 75k.

Latest population figure was announced as de facto population of 382000+.. On the other hand also claimed that 350k citizenship have been given until now., of which at least 60k to 80k are not living in TRNC. Last year there was 198k voters. Mr. Tatar who wants 2 state solution got 51% of the votes. Only Half of the known population are voters, and population figures are unreliable.

Question: What is the most realistic solution to the Cyprus Dispute?

The Poll Results:

2 State Solution, equal sovereignty 49.2%
Federation 33.1%
Annexation by Turkey 11.3%
Returning back to Republic of Cyprus (1960 agreements) 4%
Confederation 1%
none 0.4%
No idea 1%

You want the island to be a confederation 'under the EU'? What does that mean?

Let me break it down to, How was this in the elections last year?

Party%
Ersin TatarNational Unity Party32.352 State Solution, Sovereignty
Mustafa AkıncıIndependent29.84Federation & Unification (Including 1960)
Tufan ErhürmanRepublican Turkish Party21.68Federation or Independency (From all sides)
Kudret ÖzersayIndependent5.74Independecy, Two state Loose Federation
Erhan ArıklıRebirth Party5.36Sovereignty, 2 State, Annexation (He represents a portion of settlers)
Serdar DenktaşIndependent4.2Independecy, Two state Loose Federation

Republican Turkish Party didn't fully supported Mr. Akıncı in the second round, and many more people who don't like Akıncı and Federation went to the second round despite they don't like Tatar. So second round 51% Two State Solution, Sovereignty and 49% Federation supporters

We can also call this loose federation.. If we can't solve this situation like this, if we want to solve(?) two separate states (not tied with federation stuff) without borders could exists side by side under EU. Just like other European Countries, and both could use Cyprus as roof. Two state, two president, 50% 50% but under Cyprus, separate regions, no borders, free trade, free flow, but restricted land buying, citizenship etc stuff. May be shared laws and regulations but also some differentiation. If we cant be fully sovereign, they shouldn't be too. And all resources and rights should be shared accordingly (proportionally).

Recently Greeks are calling to return 1960 agreements, why would we gave up separated land/ region? nobody wants to live mixed anymore.. And They don't want to share sovereignty.. nobody wants.. On the other hand, world does not accept our state, identity and rights, we want to be part of a legal entity and open to the world. Both sides should give up something in order to find solution. It is easy to say why do you want to solve it, for people who are not living here or under embargoes, you can't do trade, you can't be sovereign, you can be fully free, corruption never ends, you can't travel freely, you can't attend any organization, event as a country.. Looking for a solution is a never ending quest.

As long as we get to keep our precious military base...
Btw my grandfather was a soldier who was in the 78 operation. So he saw no action but my mothers family was placed in a Greek house. My mother tells me how Greeks escaped appearently in such a hurry that all of their belongings were still in the house.

Big political ploy to keep the issue unresolved, two states only solution, but bigger economic powers are messing that up.

Two state would be the logical solution if there was no property and land dispute (plus bigger powers' interests). We can't get our independent state unless we give up some land and properties, which we don't want. UK US and even Greece, Greek Cyprus, Turkey enjoys unresolved situation. Turkey sometimes uses Cyprus as a diplomatic card and sometimes suffer because of it but if there has not been Cyprus dispute, it will be Aegean dispute or any other thing would put as an excuse to keep Turkey away from EU or sanctioned. So in current geopolitical situation I think all parties are enjoying status quo, but at the same time increasing tensions.

Even if we achieve direct flights and direct trade for TRNC, everything could be different and there wouldn't be any reason for finding a solution. What we have to do is push for more relations, trade and interaction with other states from back doors (Azerbaijan or Pakistan etc) and try to solve property cases within our state. Around 180k Greeks left their properties in the North, I don't even mind if we invite some of them to come and live in the North and give them some properties or compensation. It is the biggest excuse to sanction TRNC, we could solve it with the money*

Back in days, there was a hotel over Greek land, "Acapulco" they bought the land from Greek owner as well and clean their way to international tourism. Because for example Booking. com does not allow hotels (who does not have Turkish Title deed) to register, Greeks put pressure on website and removed other hotels (best example to show how they prevent us from doing business)

They want to break up Turkey, the whole pkk, armenian nonsense claims are a part of it. They supported the armenian occupation of Azeri lands too. We are fooling ourselves that the west want a settlement in cyprus. Turkey has to create her own axis, unite the Turkic nations, bring in other nations like Pakistan as if they were Turkic too. After that you can move towards other nations who dont fit in with the western or eastern axis.

Then you will have political clout to recognise the TRNC without needing the rest of the world.

The world is rapidly moving towards blocs. The anglo peoples have theirs, europe will try to create one but it will fail, it will split into several blocs. China and India are Juggernauts on their own and will add others to it who are fed up with western exploitation.

The world in 50 years time is going to look very different to how it looks now.

I agree

Many leaders like Putin, china's one, and even the US admitted that the current political influence is shifting
Even current Biden's policies are aimed to somehow preventing that
I still remember Erdo's recent words, like a week or two ago, he said: "the current political trend is shifting quickly, the West are no longer reigning supreme, Turkey must be able to adapt itself to the changing times before it is too late to even regret it"

So much for disloyalty... Citizens cleaned Denktash's mausoleum

Denktaş Monument Arrangement Initiative, which was created with the call of DP deputy Serdar Denktaş on social media, started cleaning and afforestation work in Cumhuriyet Park, where the mausoleum of TRNC Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş is located.

So much for disloyalty... Citizens cleaned Denktash's mausoleum

VERYANSIN TV
After the death of TRNC founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş, who died on January 13, 2012, the TRNC state decided to build a mausoleum.
However, despite the involvement of 8 governments since 2012, the mausoleum could not be completed due to lack of budget.

The rubble, grass and dried trees around the mausoleum caused frequent reactions from the citizens.
Veryans Tv recently brought up the images of the mausoleum where dogs nest.

Related news: ' Shame on you!' Denktaş's mausoleum became a dog house!

Upon the reactions following our news, it was announced that the maintenance and security of the mausoleum would be ensured and the deficiencies would be corrected upon the instruction of TRNC President Ersin Tatar.

Despite the fact that nearly two months have passed since this statement, the fact that the deficiencies in the mausoleum and the surrounding area were not maintained prompted the Turkish Cypriots to act.

WORK STARTED WITH SERDAR DENKTAS' CALL

The landscaping of Rauf Raif Denktaş's mausoleum was started by his fans. DP MP Serdar Denktaş and Denktaş family announced that they have started working on the landscaping of the mausoleum. Making a statement in the mausoleum area, Serdar Denktaş stated that the part built as an exhibition hall and museum along with the mausoleum has not been completed for years. Denktaş said, “When we mentioned the money needed for the project in our meetings with Saner, he replied, 'If I had that much money, I would know where to spend it'. They only proceed with election and convention calculations. We have given up hope on the government now," he said.

Denktaş, who stated that the part built as an exhibition hall and museum along with the mausoleum has been completed for years and the mausoleum has been left to its fate, harshly criticized the government and TRNC Prime Minister Ersan Saner in his speech.

In his statement, Denktaş said, "When we mentioned the money needed for the project in our meetings with Saner, he replied, 'If I had that much money, I would know where to go,' he said, 'They only proceed with the election and congressional calculations. We have given up hope on the government now.'

After the gathering at the mausoleum, first the exhibition and museum hall, which had turned into a garbage dump, was cleaned, then the existing trees were pruned and watered, and new trees were planted, in addition to environmental cleaning.

'WE NOW DID HOPE FROM THE GOVERNMENT'

Denktaş briefly stated the following in his speech on the field: "In our meetings with Saner, he replied, 'If I had that much money, I would know where to spend it.' "We were silent for our father, but we will not be silent anymore. Now those who create a false perception and speak should be silent."

Stating that the Gönyeli Municipality, which took the responsibility of the mausoleum, withdrew when there was no support from the state, Serdar Denktaş said: "The NTA, together with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, prepared a project for this place. It was to be ready for the 10th anniversary. But this was postponed due to the local elections. It was said that the decision regarding the Gönyeli Municipality, which took the responsibility during my ministry, could not be changed, and they said, "LTB does not belong to us." They are not worthy of this. They are doing the greatest disrespect. And they should not commit fraud. Dentaş sacrificed his family and youth for the existence and future of this country,Shame on us if we can't keep his place now."

'OUR HEARTS ache, not only as their sons, but also as the people of this country'

Denktaş stated that every year on November 15 and January 13, the Security Forces Command carries out a zone clean-up and the ceremonies are held like that, and said, “I ask them not to hold ceremonies here on November 15 or January 13. We don't want it. Not needed. While Dentaş's monument is in this state, they are not secular to perform a ceremony in front of it and show respect. They are committing the greatest disrespect, so that they do not reach the point of further dishonest respect. I speak harshly because our heart aches. Our hearts hurt not only for his children, but also as the people of this country.”
image_750x_615ce09f7b9e9.jpg

Expressing that there may be those who do not agree with the thought and politics of the Founding President, Serdar Denktaş said, “Denktas sacrificed his family, life and youth for the existence of this country, the future of the Turkish Cypriot people, and these children to be able to study in schools today. Shame on us if we can't protect the place where he sleeps now. There is nothing more to say,” he said.
Denktaş said that they will start the day with cleaning, they will prune the trees, they will plant saplings, and they will try to bring this place to a better point with the contribution of other municipalities.

Noting that this work did not and will not end here, Serdar Denktaş thanked the participants by expressing that they will continue this struggle until the end.

According to the information received from Serdar Denktaş, 2.5 - 3 million TL for the landscaping, 6-7 million TL for the completion of the museum, a total of approximately 10 million TL, for the monument to be opened to the public and visitors from abroad with all its units. you need.

Journalist Sabahattin İsmail, advisor to Rauf Denktaş, also reacted to the failure to finish the mausoleum with a post on his social media account.
