Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of the Friendship, Equality and Peace Party (FEP), founded by the Western Thrace Turkish Minority in Greece:
The FEP Party, which won a big victory in the elections in Greece on June 9, disturbed Greece. Some people applied to the Council of State and the Supreme Court, demanding that our party be inspected and its legal activities stopped.
We expressed that we represented the Turkish minority and according to them this was wrong. No! We insist on this matter! As the FEP Party, we will continue to defend the denied, usurped rights and denied identity of the Western Thrace Turks. They cannot intimidate us in any way.
