You have to love that Israel releases new drones/weaponary in secret, and Turkey commits to a whole ceremony simultaneously exposing all sorts to foreign agencies.......

When Kaşif Kozinoğlu was killed his only picture on the internet was taken the day FETÖ dogs arrested him.
Still is to be honest, you can't find much info about his past, he was a ghost. That man was a professional.

But that era is over now. After ergenekon fiasco nothing surprises me. I don't know how to explain the "cosmic room" event to the English speakers.
But If you knew the level of which the Turkish government is infiltrated nothing would surprise you.

We expose TCG Ufuk ourselves, we broadcast members of MİT live on television. Yeah it seems crazy but it's minor compared to what happened before.

For this reason i will not look how the manufacturer is bragging, i will look at how TAF will be using those and i am sure the latter will be much more effective than what is exaggarated by the manufacturer.

A lot of discussion has since occured (And I will read those later when I get bit more time).

Let me say for now this is the most important thing you have said here....this will be the final best proof of the relevance materialising (from what is conceptual being debated here).

Turkish Air Force (or any Air Force) use is what will actually show the beans.

Though conceptually I can think of more potentials (to add to the good ones you have mentioned in taking out easier targets in the pyramid hierarchy in aerial threats) as engagements can take on many forms as they develop and arise in various scenarios.

Loiter and launch salvo from a new/pre launched vector (unknown to opponent) to something the faster guys set up dynamically for kill zone.

i.e drive pigeons into a skeet zone.

i.e there can be optimal use of the faster platforms in an engagement, but share the final required missile burden with drones (with lower RCS, no valuable pilot on board, and decent ambush potential if you wargamed it well).

The missiles can also be homed/datalinked with other airborne assets depending on need (i.e UAV does the launch, thats it).

There is also a whole realm in creating EM noises and bogey conditions to trick attacker that drones can play a part in going forward. Imagine some combo of ECM/ECCM oriented drones. There is whole ecosystem of potential here:

A-A capable drones could add some extra bite to this on top.

It will need seasoned AF guy to get into probabilities at this stage (whatever isnt classified + he's willing to talk about it) and his opinion....but we can always see something is validated by realised induction numbers as they come out.

Also merely having it as option gets the opponent to think and spend time countering it.

I like that Turkey has its finger close to the pulse in UAV domain and keeping lot of options open to explore.
They can be quite the force multiplier, lets see how it all goes.

Bayraktar TB2 Tactical UAV with Integrated Rapid Mapping Pod

Kamer Kurunc
1 September 2021

Bayraktar TB 2 Tactical S/UAV System, developed and put into use by Baykar, has the capacity to map large areas with its Rapid Mapping Pod.
According to the information provided by the company, the Baykar Rapid Mapping Pod can produce thousands of square kilometers of high-resolution (7 cm and less) maps in a 24-hour period.
The Rapid Mapping Pod, which can be used as a payload on Bayraktar TB2 S/UAVs, processes terabytes of data in an automatic pipeline to provide beautiful orthorectified maps where each pixel is accurately georeferenced within a few decimetres.

Developed by Baykar himself
According to the statements made by Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar in 2018, the original camera pod, which includes electro-optical cameras in an array, was developed by Baykar himself. This pod was later integrated on Bayraktar TB2.
Original software algorithms were created that automatically combine thousands of high-resolution images taken during flight tests with pods attached. Baykar aims to transform this capability into a product quickly.
Here is a sentence by Haluk Bayraktar about the Rapid Mapping Pod:
“We can express it this way, for example, the geography of Afrin was 2,000 square kilometers. The solution we've developed offers 2-2.5 times better resolution of photos and mapping than Google Earth. After productizing this, we aim to increase the field scanning speed and further.”

Bayraktar TB2 Tactical UAV with Rapid Mapping Pod for HGM (General Directorate of Maps)
Such a system will greatly contribute to increasing the capabilities of the General Directorate of Maps (HGM), which is the national cartography institution still affiliated to the Ministry of National Defense in our country. HGM, with its approximately 750 personnel, serves both public institutions and organizations for development purposes and the Turkish Armed Forces for defense and security purposes.
As a writer, I had the honor of examining HGM's capabilities on site within the scope of the 15th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF'21). The solutions developed by HGM especially for residential areas were quite impressive. HGM was also displaying a UAV at its stand, but it was a mini UAV.
There are currently 3 mini UAV teams in the HGM inventory for the needs of the TAF. In addition, HGM inventory includes one Beech King Air B350 ER (supplied in 2019) and two Beech King Air B200 aircraft for mapping activities. The cameras used in airplanes are stated as UltraCam Eagle 2xMark 3 and 1xMark 1.
In the speech made by Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defense, in the Budget Meeting Minutes held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in 2018, it is stated that it is aimed to add the ability to take aerial photographs for map production to two tactical-UAVs (Bayraktar TB2) in the HGM inventory.
According to Akar, in this way, aerial photographs of the whole of our country will be renewed every two years, and these images, which are important for the development and defense of our country, will be presented to the public with public institutions and organizations.
In a presentation shared by HGM after the Inter-Ministerial Coordination and Planning Board Meeting on March 30, 2021, it is stated that the work on the System, which obtains images that can be used in cartography studies with cameras mounted on the Tactical UAV, continues.
From these statements, we understand that Bayraktar TB2 with the Rapid Mapping Pod has not yet entered the HGM inventory. Undoubtedly, the introduction of such a product into the inventory will dramatically increase HGM's mapping capabilities.

Could it be possible to sell a turboprop-powered Anka or Aksungur to America after the elections?
Could relations bounce back to that level?

We've discussed it over and over again right? Reaper is too costly for them.
Also sooner or later they are going to have to retire A-10s

By law, acquisition of foreign made weapons are banned in USA. You must give all rights to a local company there.

What are you talking about? They have Spike NLOS, Kongsberg missiles and so many other foreign weapons it would be too long to type here.

Are you telling me that Embraer Super Tucanos that the USAF use are made in the USA? lol

By whatever method they bought those Super Tucanos they can buy the Aksungur.

Get a telescope, dobsonians are pretty cheap and you'll find out how difficult it is to find something in the sky if you don't know where to look at.
first few tries you won't even be able to find the fvcking moon.
It is not one telescope but 1.310.720 telescopes (1280*1024) connected to cameras to produce HD image of sky with image recognition software and AI like baykar sahin image processing software. It can detect movements automatically.

You see I can make better argument without swearing.

I don nott think they will make turkish UAVs even more famous. This would be nothing more than an advertisement

I thought jews were good at business.

Why the f. do I need more advertisement if I'm selling drones to America? Have you any idea what kind of volume such a sale could have?
It would keep our factories busy for years.

The whole world laughed when TB2 destroyed Pantsir

The whole world will laugh when Akinci destroys old Mig-29 and F-16

The whole world will laugh when MIUS destroys Rafale and Su-35

Turkish navy has placed an order for Aksungur UAV.
They have transferred some of their Anka orders to Aksungur.
Let us hope others will follow.

I don't understand this? How a state can "order" something without a tender process?

Samething goes with Akıncı too. My old friends would remember, we used to check SSM's website for new tenders and we able to run guesses from the tender documents that have been posted.

Now, we only hear, 6 Akıncıs taken into inventory? Like where is the tender, how many are you going to buy, what abilities do you want?

Lately, i see nothing of that sort... maybe i'm mistaken, please show me tender documents if there are some on these acquisitions.

Tender for what ? Who to produce Akıncı while there is only 1 ONE producer ? We are not USA.. We don't have like hundreds of defence companies capable of developing armed drones.

SSB gives the project to a company --> company develops it --> SSB pays for the aircraft and delivers to HvKK.

If you are going to compare Akıncı and Aksungur that means you don't know anything about UAV classification..

You can go for tenders with armored vehicles, smaller UAVs, ships.Or projects developed for SSB that SSB owns the rights. Like Altay engine. When BMC finishes the development all licence rights will be given to SSB. Then SSB can tender for a producer.
