And yet they can't even match the performance of TB2. Anyway, on the subject of TB2 - I see they have updated payload of TB2 - MULTI-PURPOSE AESA RADAR?!?!?!?!

Turkey’s armed drones put to test in Hungary: Report

BUDAPEST-Anadolu Agency

Turkey’s armed drones put to test in Hungary: Report

Turkey’s armed drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have been tested by the Hungarian army, local newspaper Magyar Nemzet reported on Nov. 12.

The news report said the KARAYEL-SU armed drone developed by Vestel Defense was photographed both on land and in the air at the Hungarian Armed Forces' Papa Air Base.

According to the report, "Turkish drones showcased at Papa" by David Laszlo, Gaspar Maroth, a Hungarian defense official, said in May that Hungary has in place a drone strategy since 2018 and has reviewed many Turkish companies for procurement.

Pointing out that Hungarian security forces may prefer the KARAYEL-SU drones, the report said the UAVs have a 20-hour endurance rating in addition to their fully autonomous takeoff, landing, and flight features.

According to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has risen to the world’s top three in combat drone technology, and all the drones produced by Turkish defense companies are in high demand worldwide.

Turkish drones are said to have altered battleground equations in high-intensity conflicts such as Syria, Libya, and Nagorno-Karabakh.

I'm really hoping for Vestels success.

AESA Radar would make Sense to use Tb-2 against Air Targets, for example against other Drones, Low flying Aircraft or Helicopters.

Impossible, you need bigger engine for that, radar systems are power comsuning electronics.

TB3 is new designed uav, TB2 is old and they reached its maximum capacity. This will be a expesive uav TB2 if they manage something like that.
assuming it'll be in close proximity to cities and such. I think a network centric solution with passive relay antenna systems could be used to create a web where the tb2 could suffice with a smaller radar/sensor to locate targets.

It'll be interesting to see the use-case for Multi-purpose AESA radar. Maybe we may see single tube sungurs integrated into TB2?

Existing Examples - Falco EVO with Gabbiano lightweight multimode radar

With a high level of modularity and flexibility, the system is suited for operation aboard of mini/small
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as well as both fixed and rotary wing small manned platforms.

The Gabbiano TS Ultra-Light (UL) surveillance radar is the result of the company’s efforts to package all the technology and modes of its successful range of Gabbiano radars into a highly-affordable product weighing less than 24kg. The new multi-mode, multi-mission, mechanically scanning product is Leonardo’s lightest-ever surveillance radar.

To be fair it is their first try, I expect they will get better with time.

Dont be too quick to discredit them the way Westerners discredited Turkey when they first entered the defense industry.

They aren't doing it alone, heavy South-African involvement - i expected better tbh. I give more leeway to Iran, they are heavily embargoed and put out some decent designs.

South Africans arent magical beings although I agree they could have made something better. I expect their products will become far better in the next few years.

Seems UAE is copying Turkish strategy of using lightweight UCAVs that can be mass produced.

All their UAVs unveiled today.
