We are dependent on foreign EO targeting systems for such a big production capacity. Currently, Aselsan can only produce 72 CATS per year it will be raised to 120 in the short term and 144 short to middle term.

I assume most of it are for foreign customers so if the end user is not under sanctions, they can buy directly from Wescam.

Anka-S can stay airborne for 50+hours with this amount of fuel consumption.

Motor Sich is not destroyed. A few missiles won't destroy a big campus but I doubt people still works there.

The first flight of TB3 will happen by the end of this year or early next. The first flight of the MIUS will happen next year.

As Motor Sich plant in Ukraine is destroyed by Russia, so what are our options about Akinci, Mius & atak 2 engines ?, do we have even a single engine for prototype (Mius & atak 2) ?
By the looks of it situation is bleak, i don't thing akinci is going in to mass production any time soon and i don't even wanna talk about mius & atak 2.

I hope i am wrong but can some one clarify this issue.

Akıncı also flies with the Canadian PT6 engine and the PD225 which is nearly ready for duty.

TF6000 can be used for MIUS if it is a thing in a few years.

TEI have already made preliminary work for a 3000-4000 hp class turboshaft engine and if they get a work order from SSB they can make the prototype in 3-4 years and it can be ready a couple years after prototype.

Even several units of a class can do a good job if it is not a full blown war that is in question. So if there are some engines procured for prototypes they can be used to make operational units that can patch a shortcoming.

I don't see why TEI can not give shorter time frames for small engines after the TS1400 experience. But when push comes to shove they should be able to squeeze time.

Correct! also Rolls Royce/Honeywell TPE-331 turboprop family can provide 550-1650HP power for any type of propeller driven plane.

We don't know how many strings are attached to foreign options.

I would use PD225 for low power Akıncı and use a de-rated TS1400 for the high power monster. This can happen in 6 months. With TS1400 it maybe possible to operate Akıncı from LHD Anadolu without tugging. Using some AI this can be possible.

How are you going to operate Akinci from TCG Anadolu with it’s 20m wingspan?
We don’t really have much option at the moment. We need a good solid foreign engine manufacturer like RR that is ready to co-produce engines in Turkey to speed things up. As the Turkish proverb goes;
“We can no longer afford to dream about focusing on birds on a tree branch. But we need to concentrate on the birds we have in hand. “

Dude, you don't need a turboprop version to be made, while a turboprop is the ideal case a turboshaft is good enough to run a propeller. PD225 tests are 70% finished, give it 6 months to be completed.

You will need to clear the entire portside to pull off a landing. But the benefits will be huge. If you configure the ship to not include an amphibic operation you can use more of the space for storage of aircraft. They can even shorten the wings and still be able to fly well. Not all paths lead to a foreign reliance.

For a company that has never manufactured a fully operational jet engine from scratch up until now, do you really think that they can turn ts1400, with a correct transmission in to a working, flying turboprop Under 2-3 years with all the whistles attached?
Even a PD-222 that was just a small reconfiguration of turbo systems, you say, is 6 months away from being ready.
Nobody wants foreign reliance. But there is a road to take towards total self sufficiency. Quickest route is getting a big brother to show you how it is done. If TEI is where it is today, that is mainly thanks to GE as per Dr Aksit’s words.
Even if you clear the port side, that bird will never “safely” land on that ship! TB3 and may be MIUS are more likely candidates, even though there could be some reservations on that.

You only need a transmission RPM change from the TS1400 output to the propeller input if any. How long do you want this to take, TEI can do this in 3 months if they want. And this is an unmanned plane. You guys are making it look like a development from scratch. TEI are endeavoring to make the 35000 lbf engine and you guys are making a possible RPM change of an already built engine a huge deal.

TEI started off like that and have flourished with the work GE gave to them. TEI themselves acquired many more skills over what they received from GE. It is not the TEI that GE kick started anymore.
