American combat drone Thanatos made its first flight
«A year after it was first unveiled, Kratos announced it flew the highly secretive Thanatos UCAV (Uncrewed Combat Air Vehicle) for the first time in the last few months.
Kratos Defense and Security has recently unveiled that its stealthy Thanatos UCAV has completed the maiden flight. However, due to the highly secretive nature of the program, the exact date of this flight was not publicly announced»

Performance data are not disclosed.

Akıncı fired supersonic missile with fire-and-update capability.

Apparently, all of Roketsan's guided artillery rockets will be certified for AKINCI (and possibly KE) as air-to-ground missile variants. A very interesting fire support doctrine is emerging.

Piaggio also dabbled with UAVs albeit not that enthusiastically.

Piaggio P.1HH HammerHead & Piaggio P.2HH HammerHead with only a single prototype each in 2013 and 2018 respectively. (Based on the P.180)

All the property rights or patents of this project-related subsystems and structures developed in relation to this project may not be owned in their entirety by piaggio. Leonardo was also in this canceled/stalled program.

Piaggio had some advantages with this airframe, and this was a topic of discussion in forums years ago. The most important thing that I remember is that the aircraft had a very good minimum control speed ( I think it is important for UAV derivative), and most importantly, a higher maximum speed and cruising speed than any turboprop aircraft in this class. This really gave Avantia a significant advantage in the business jet market.

Another detail is that the aircraft uses a PT-6 engine. Piaggio aerospace's aero-engine department also has long-term complete maintenance, repair and overhaul agreements with PW. If you ask me, this may be one of the most important advantages this acquisition will provide to Baykar.

Italy and through Leonardo in particular, has been a very good partner so far primarily within the T129 program.
I don't know of any covert embargo imposed by the Italians unlike their German and other western partners.
I agree that the engine know-how is probably the most important advantage in this acquisition but I assume there will be more advantages spreading from manufacturing secrets, utilisation of assets, connections within Piaggio's own ecosystem to a foot in the door for the western aviation market, etc.

Baykar can easily sell MPAs developed from P180 Avanti to the Navy and Coast Guard. The Navy will probably ask for weapon integration, such as light anti-ship missiles(Çakır), light torpedoes(Orka) and sonobuoys. Electronic package will also probably completely replaced with Turkish products. The current design of MPA P180 Avanti might see some changes. The current design of P180 has 2x 950hp PW PT6A-66B. The good thing is it is the large version of PT6A meaning it is possible to install more powerful engines PT6A medium variants maxes at 1050hp. I think 1200hp engine of Beechcraft is very suitable for this job.

Another good thing is that we can use this aircraft for our future aircraft carrier in both MPA and AWACS roles. It has a wingspan of 21m and is suitable for naval operations with a very low stall speed (125knots loiter speed and ~100knot stall speed). The engines are located near the body, so folded wings can be used for navy variants.
The relative final approach speed of such an aircraft will be lower than 100 knots. If we assume a relative speed of 90 knots it is just 166km/h which is in the realm of landing without an arrester gear (our future AC %100 will have arrestor gear).

Lastly, Piaggio has a UAV version of this aircraft. Baykar can add so many things to that product.
IMHO great strategic acquisition.
