Weird, Denel claimed 10 meter accuracy for their kit but this one is much higher.

View attachment 21906
This is a guidance system that uses fins as control surfaces. It is similar to the guidance kit that Cabatlı posted above. Although this type o kits offer good accuracy, they are expensive and can't be used in mass. The kit that I posted uses an air brake mechanism and a simpler IMU rather than moving fins and GPS/INS to guide the shells. It is very cheap to produce. It can be produced from the existing production lines without much investment, you can produce tens of thousands of such kits without bankrupting yourself.

In a battle, ammo is used like tap water by the artillery batteries. You need to use guided shells for maximum effectiveness but you also need to use huge amounts of them. This is a good sweet spot of cost-effectiveness. Of course, ideally, you should have GPS/INS and laser-guided shells for high-value stationery (for GPS/INS) and moving targets(for SAL) that should be used in small numbers to complement simple cheaper guidance kits when the battlefield and mission demands.

(A past interview from 2017) MKEK General Manager Ahmet Taşkın stated that they are working on guided ammunition with a diameter of 155 mm and that they have included several companies operating in Turkey's defense industry sector in this project. It is planned to carry out studies that will significantly increase the accuracy of the ammunition with integrated guidance systems. Laser Guidance for close targets, Inertial Navigation System (INS) to mid-range targets and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) assisted INS guidance system for maximum distance targets are envisaged.
Also Gürcan Okumuş has spoken about this in Defence Turk interview, that they have submitted the feasibility study for guided shells, they have probably matured GPS/INS guidance years ago and now SSB is moving onto development of actively guided shells (SAL, IIR, TV, MMW).
I aware from some sources that simple TV (RGB based) guided shells are also prioritized for various roles.
Probably we will hear of these in the given order:
(I expect 155 mm to be in service by 2023 while naval ones may flex up to 2025 and beyond.)

155mm
-GPS /INS guidance
-ER munition
-SAL guidance

127/76 mm
-GPS/INS for ER naval artillery
-SAL for precision guided naval artillery
-TV for precision guided artillery for anti-symmetrical threats
-IIR /IR for precision guided artillery against surface ships.
-MMW for CIWS

Bayraktar has updated it’s TB2 specs.
Engine has gone up to 105HP from 100HP.
Line Of Sight communication has increased to 300km from 150km.
MTOW has gone up to 700kg from 650kg.
Also a satcom communication distance of 1800km has been added.
Max duration of flight has gone up to 30hours from 27hours.
LOS communication availability distance, at 7000m altitude is 300km anyways. Probably it needed a more powerful signal generator before. Now it has it.
So a different engine to 100hp Rotax is being used. This , together with satcom equipment, has bumped up the MTOW to 700kg.

Rotax can power up to 115hp (There’re variants)
Added weight of CATS is also compansated.

Rotaxes are either 100hp, 115hp or 140hp off the top of my head.
105hp is either a modification of the 100hp or a different engine, probably the elusive PG115 down-rated.
300km terrestrial control range, Satcom and Aselsan CATS are blissful.
Domestic rating should have moved up too.

Tusas is naming the latest version of it’s Anka as the Next Generation Anka.
It is going to have a number of improvements over the older version, including a new wing configuration to give better fuel efficiency and longer duration in air; 30 hours as opposed to 27.
It’s load capacity is also increased from 200kg to 350+ kg. (+ presumably, because the PD170 engine may later be replaced with PD180 or even PD222)

MQ 9 Reaper is capable to launch more the one missile or guided bomb at any locked target. As from the drone footage released it is clear that no such ability exist in current Turkish drones.
TB2S, TB3, Aksungur & Akinci are all new drones, So is there any chance that we might see double tap or multi target lock and attack (in close proximity) ability in these new drones ? @TheInsider

Kargu-2 kamikaze drone found and hit the target on its own/autonomous basis with its artificial intelligence without taking a command in Libya.
The United Nations reported on March 21 that this could be the first attack by unmanned aerial vehicles in the history of the world on its own initiative.

Autonomous ‘killer drone’ hunted down human targets

STM-Image.png

A UN report states that a Turkish-built quadcopter was used to attack retreating Libyan fighters last year. But, in what appears to be a first that has some concerned, the device was operating in a fully autonomous mode – hunting down its targets without human intervention.

The information, contained in a United Nations document, was reported on by Aviation Week and New Scientist. It details an attack that apparently took place in 2020 and used a product manufactured by Turkey. It’s called the Kargu-2 and carries an explosive charge.

And, according to the report, it carried out its deadly mission – against a rival Libyan faction – autonomously. The report, in fact, says retreating forces were “hunted down” by the device.

Deadly quad

The machine is manufactured by STM. Here’s what it looks like:

STM Image

Lethal

Here’s how STM describes the machine’s capabilities:

KARGU® is a rotary wing attack drone that has been designed for asymmetric warfare or anti-terrorist operations. It can be carried by a single personnel in both autonomous and manual modes. KARGU® can be effectively used against static or moving targets through its indigenous and real-time image processing capabilities and machine learning algorithms embedded on the platform. KARGU®, which is included in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, enables soldiers to detect and eliminate threats in a region, and can be used easily by the soldiers in the area without entering the risky areas, especially in asymmetric terrorist operations and asymmetric warfares.

Video of Kargu-2

The STM web site also includes a video that demonstrates the Kargu-2 in action. Essentially, it flies in like a Kamikaze pilot, detonating an explosive charge in close proximity to the target. On detonation, munitions designed to kill people or damage equipment (pre-loaded, depending on mission), are dispersed.

You might wonder what that looks like. STM has a demo video up:

Moment of impact

We screen-grabbed a couple of frame so you can see this in a little more detail:

Screen-Shot-2021-05-30-at-9.40.21-AM.png
Munitions are dispersed at the moment of detonation…
Screen-Shot-2021-05-30-at-9.40.04-AM.png

Autonomous

The machine has a 10X optical Zoom and built-in AI that allows it to identify a target. And while you can see that could be useful in a weapon, such capabilities are highly controversial. In fact, back in 2018, there were preliminary UN discussions to consider drafting a treaty that would ban the development of what critics called “Killer Robots.” As Politico reported, the US and Russia shut down the process before it could get anywhere.

And so now, we’re seeing an autonomous drone that’s capable of making some of its own deadly decisions.

It's nothing to be proud of and is probably a lie that is used to attack Turkish defence industry.

Kargu is probably autonomous in a sense similar to a fire&forget missile so operator confirmation is required before releasing it.

Not that AI identifies a terrorist threat and chases it, decides to kill by itself... A killer autonomous attack drone software can be written with fever lines of code if no restrictions are applied and is an ethical problem, like mines or cluster munition.

Anka is capable of flying more than the catalogue number and at 30k feet altitude. There were signs of it in some pictures,it is up to the eyes to discover it.
150 kg increase in payload can also be used for increasing the loitering time to 40+ hours for ISR.
I assume 30 hours is given with munition payload,i am well aware Anka is superior to CH-4B in many ways.
Nobody can convince me on an UAV with 170 HP and dual turbo under-performs compared to another drone with 100 HP with no turbo.
Moreover the new generation may also indicate integration of PD180ST (180 MCR) or PD222DT (170 MCR) or PD222ST (200 MCR)

They should just develop a bigger turboprop version (TS1400/PT6/AI-450) of it until MİUS arrives.... but no, TUSAŞ works on unmanned electric helicopter instead.

In Syria all was fake and Mr Erdogan was lying, in Libya all of a sudden there was humanitarian crisis and Turkish is doing this and that, in Karabakh it was genocide, war crimes bla bla bla etc etc. Now what ? Turkey is building sky net which is unethical and highly controversial and they did test it in 2020!
But destroying entire countries, dropping nukes, detonating 100's of nukes in open atmosphere, torturing, looting, coups, destabilizing nations through any and all means, igniting arms races, playing GOD etc are all fine and for the good of humanity.
Expect more venom spewing against Turkey.

TEI has removed the PD222DT (170 MCR) from their Website.

Double tap videos have been shared against both PKK and Armenians forces but these are after the initial assessment of the first strike, not exactly what you ask for. We have also seen TB2 doing the first hit while it guides larger bombs from jets for the second and third hit on the same target. An Armenian SAM hiding in a garage comes to mind here.

But you request for double tap or simultaneous engagement of multiple ground targets within a few seconds could come on larger platforms. The small TB2 simply can not afford to waste ammunition for double tap until the assessment of the first strike is ready after 1-2 minutes.

Double tap should not be a problems since they just need to release more than one bomb on the target within one seconds. No other changes to laser or bomb is needed as bombs/missiles guide themselves to the same laser point. However, I don't really see the benefit of this. Just use a bigger bomb or wait one minute if you are not sure if the target was destroyed.

The second development of simultaneous engagement of multiple targets requires hardware and software changes but should not be really hard to develop as there are multiple options on how to achieve this. You could either use multi-wavelength lasers or you could encode the laser designator with a code or use GPS fencing to limit targets within certain range. You then program the bombs on release to follow a specific code and gps limitations. You obviously also need a new laser designator which can do multiple targets (this is possible as I have worked producing 3D laser scanners using prism with 1 000 000 points but I'm sure how reliable it would be on a drone).

One more interesting development could be to program an off-sets from a single laser point. This could be used to bomb an infantry formation spread along a road so that 4 bombs hitting 200m along the road for maximum effect. This does not require any change to current configuration of TB2. Just add an off-set parameter to the bombs and release 4 bombs at once.

Btw, check the ULAQ thread for a Cirit double tap.

Thanks for the generous reply.
In Syria columns of armored vehicles were attacked by drones but at any given time only one unit could be targeted despite being in a column, As u mentioned TB2 is small and can not afford extra luxury, But in next iteration capabilities should be developed to target multiple desired units in a column or in an area with handsome amount of distance between targets by onboard munition.
ULAQ getting double tap ability is encouraging, Hope we have multi target engagement ability in at least Akinci and Aksungur.

YouTube has been flooded by these types of low quality channels... They just spit out bullcrap, to the point where finding good content related to defence is impossible. As soon as I hear the robot voice I get out of the video.

Weren't there rumors last year that the Goksungur was going to use Ukrainian engines? I find it strange how Turkish Aerospace was supposedly going to reveal it late last year, now we only here about the MIUS. Oh well, whatever happens, I hope to see a jet-powered, preferably supersonic drone, in the skies before 2023.

I hate clickbait crap so bad. Seriously fck youtube for allowing this clickbait culture to become so common.

Lets not forget the role mainstream media played in clickbait.
