Turkey's drone hunter Fedai makes its first flight

Models of concept studies for the Fedai, which was created in cooperation with Turkish defense industry companies and used in the first flight, and for launching from multiple and single launch systems, were exhibited at the SAHA EXPO Defense and Aviation Hybrid Fair organized by SAHA Istanbul.

Transvaro Executive Board Member Güray Ali Canlı told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they kept the platform on which they made their first flight as a memory and exhibited it at the fair, shortly after the bouncer works came to the fore.

Noting that Fedai has received serious demand from abroad in this short period of time and they are making preparations to meet these demands, Vital said, "We started to produce Fedai from carbon. The first 10 vehicles came out of mass production. There is more demand for the multi-launch version installed on the vehicle. We prepared this model. We are proposing to the world market a concept in the form of a truck with 3 launch systems, 1 command control, 1 radar, jammer and thermal camera systems in a set of vehicles." said.

Noting that they started to work on the model, which reached an altitude of 5 thousand meters, in line with the demand from a Southeast Asian country, Vital said:

"We named it the Fedai 102, it was the first Fedai 101. Our field tests are very successful. We made its first flight. We bring innovations in every flight. Fedai has a thermal camera, daytime camera and LIDAR. It is the first and only in the world with this feature. Wing folding system It is a patented and special system. It is 100 percent carbon, this feature is unique in the world. The only one in the world with radar, camera control and LIDAR scanning system. The launcher is launched from the tube, we have started work on the shoulder-mounted model. "We are making these preparations for the Turkish defense industry. Our R&D studies continue at full speed. We are developing Fedai every day. We organize our production accordingly. I think that Fedai will be one of the most important export products of the Turkish defense industry in the very near future."

New factory for Fedai needs

Live said they plan to have the first Bouncers ready for delivery in January-February 2022.

Explaining that they are aiming to meet the incoming orders with a certain capacity, Yaşam made the following evaluations:

Low altitude air defense mission to Fedai 102

Güray Ali Canlı, who gave information about the differences between Fedai 101 and Fedai 102, made the following assessment:

“Our customers want to use Fedai as a low-altitude air defense system not only to shoot down UAVs and drones, but also to shoot down low-flying helicopters and propeller planes. That's why the request for 5,000 meters came. It's a bit taller, with its battery and engine as well. It's bigger. We've also increased the warhead a little bit. Its diameter is the same, the wing lengths are different. We've extended our launchers. The same launcher can fire Fedai 101 and Fedai 102. It has more speed and airtime, and more powerful batteries."

I guess the subsonic model should be the carrier capable one while the supersonic model lands on land.

Wouldn't it be the opposite? The subsonic version being the prototype, and the supersonic version being the carrier-borne version with the extra thrust to lift off?

The deal for MS500 turboprop(1050hp power compared to 450hp AI450)engine has been signed between Bayraktar and MotorSich. MS500 will be the alternative engine for Akinci drone.

MS-500V produces up to 1050 hp of power. We can expect some serious performance from Akıncı with 2xMS-500V engines.

Got to be the best bang for the buck, no point in paying a premium price for P&W engine when the platform is designed to be expendable.

A plane landing on a short strip needs to be able to fly slowly, generally speaking. A fast plane may not be able to slow down enough to land on the short strip. I am guessing.

Alternative engine for AKINCI​

Motor Sich JSC Marketing and Sales Manager Pavlo Kasai said that with each agreement, the security and strength of the two countries increased as well as their cooperation. "I can assure you that everything will be on time and that the engines will be delivered on time and will work well," Kasai said.

Bayraktar and Kasai signed the agreement after the speeches.

I wish Black Sea Shield would be utilized but since the Engines will be delivered in 2022 I assume no National Production until at least 2023.
Perhaps Ukraine isn't interested in Sharing work.

How does it get enough speed, lift to hit faster, higher flying targets. Using mini hobby turbojet engine could be the ideal option for it.

I feel like that could become a reality where they disable planes, drones and missiles by messing with the electronics inside.
