Even if the Russians destroy all 85 of the Leopard 2s Ukraine’s allies currently have pledged to the war effort, there are more tanks on the way—including 31 M-1s from the United States and more than 130 Leopard 1s from a Danish-Dutch-German consortium.

Its mostly a slur towards Turks, but since the west/white europeans sees Turks and Muslims as one and the same i guess its also a slur against Muslims. Honestly though seeing the shit these people eat like a thousand different boiled cabbage dishes, they should love the Turks for introducing kebab to them. God Russian food is so terrible.

I don't think the "allies" of Ukraine want Ukraine to win the war. They want Russia to be stuck in Ukraine similar to Afghanistan. The longer you fight the more resilient Russia will be. A war of attrition is good for the allies of Ukraine, but not for Ukraine. Russia will throw more manpower and equipment into the problem until Ukraine loses its strength to push. IMHO if the Ukrainian offensive fails peace talks will start probably with the mediation of Turkiye.

From an American perspective the longer the war goes the better. Russians continue to ruin themselves while the Orthodox world collectively destroys itself. Not only will Ukraine and Russia never be united, they will fight for years whittling each other down if need be.

But lets not get hyped about this counter offensive, after this offensive F16's will come and its highly likely longer range rocket artillery will come. The Ukrainians as long as the west arms them can in the future create a hundred offensives if need be.

Also don't get hooked on Russian propaganda who show a few destroyed vehicles as a victory. The Ukrainians are going to sustain losses, they have to if they want to push. What's happening right now is they are probing for weaknesses in their lines. Each time the Russians attack a probe they give away where they are strong and where they are weak.

@Gary That is some weird stuff.

Modern artillery is rewriting the 'art of war'.
Or at least radically changing lot of people's perspective. (Including mine)

I used to be an AF guy. But the thing is, all those cool gunships and attack helicopters are much more vulnerable than it was previously anticipated.

And the long range heavy artillery coupled with small ISR UAV is proven to be more efficient than close air support.

I wonder, if these vehicles had APS, probably wouldn’t have made any difference.

It feels logical that an offensive would be much more difficult and bloody than a defensive war. One side needs to overwhelm other to make significant progress

No. I followed closely the air war against ISIS in Syria. I took heed what proper air power could achieve...not Ukraine air power.

Except ISIS didn't have any sort of air defence capability.

The lesson of Ukraine war is simple.

If you Can't have expensive air force, then have lots of artillery and a sufficient layered air defence network.

"Russia/Petrushev; “We were about to come to an agreement with Ukraine at the talks in Turkey in March last year. In the evening they made a suggestion. We accepted. The deal could be signed the next morning. When we got up in the morning, Ukraine - we gave up. There is no agreement- because there was pressure from the United States to -don't make a deal-”"

I think there was no objection from the parties to this sharing. In other words, there have been developments that everyone knows and predicts. This war represents the next 100 years of the west! You ask why?

yes yes, like "why did putin attack russia". isn't it? Many countries lie about this war for their own interests. accusing one country of outright lying hides the facts. That's why this comment seems so wrong.

Sivkov says that Ukrainian military forces are being destroyed before approaching Russian positions. They are destroyed by bombers and helicopters. And MANPADS were ineffective. The only things that glide bombs can pick up on the radar are the IRIS-T, but there are few of them and they are destroyed by the Lancet drones https://vk.com/roytv?z=video711300862_456239303/9d7ddffaed39a3676c/pl_post_711300862_20453.
Sivkov also says that NATO created an aviation group under the guise of an exercise for the war with Russia.
Sivkov says the main threat to Russia is the fifth column in Russia. Among the cities of Russia is Yekaterinburg, the fiefdom of the Russian opposition and separatists, from where President Yeltsin came out, dismantling the Soviet Union.
