This isnt the thread for this tbh but do allow me to share my thoughts on the issue

IMO, there is no nation that is 100% secular; some sort of religion or identity must have roots within the framework of the nation; from the USA to France to UK to Italy to Greece To Turkey to the Med East to India to China itself etc....

The notion of completely separating religion and politics is completely impossible. Some religions do prohibit certain actions that cant be formed during politics and vice versa etc...

That applies to Ataturk as well. Ataturk was one of the most patriotic guys Tuks ever had; unlike the current rulers of his party tbh! He fought in the Ottoman army (during its last days) and knew what lost cause it was and thus resigned and supported the Turks fight against the Western fools. Ataturk wasnt perfect but he did give Turkey the basis for all the things it lacked. However, after he died, all the basis for such improvement was destroyed by the so-called secular party at the time
If such things were to remain, Turkey rn would have been teaching Russia a lesson Directly for its lost soldiers and not indirectly by supporting Ukraine. You dont know how many times I wished if Ataturk has been alive for 10 to 20 more, at least Turkey would have bloody indigenous functioning planes

I wont deny that polotical leaders like the AKP's Erdo is use religion for his benefit in some cases and I wont deny that some members do hate Ataturk in general (which is quite wrong) but I would say that semi-broken nationalism is still a 100 times better than hardocore secularism. At least the country will gain something

A nation cant definitely improve if its leaders have no sort of nationalism, patriotism or intimacy with its own nation's history

Dude .... its larger topic that has been aired out a lot in this forum already. This is not the time and place to get into details and nuances of how much of an edifice and principle is valid as a complete monolith....especially factoring for one's own biased perception of it...or the actual realisation of it in society.

There are better suited threads for that (tea house, coffee house, politics threads etc).

I am simply making a point regarding some high cringe versions found of a certain complex.

Reasonable people can make up their own minds on who they are here.

Hypocrite delusional people can keep doing what they feel like doing too.

I ain't naming any names, people are free to observe and decide.

It is wars that bring this out extra hard....because it is life and death....so your core principles on the matter ought to be rock solid....one cant justify A but let it lapse for B.

Trust me, I know a bunch of people that have ran away when confronted and asked on a number of issues related to their BS assertions and delusions to propel just one fantasy of theirs....reality be damned.

Hypocrisy stinks, extreme hypocrisy even more so...and reasonable people sniff it quick and fast.....always.

Anyway I am going to let the thread get back to the dead tank and helicopter stuff now. Just giving a reflection on what I seen in last dozens of pages.

Don't believe everything that comes out of Erdoğans mouth. This is his classic lip service. At the moment we are HEAVILY supporting Ukraine and pretend like we are "neutral". We are in a coalition against Russia with Poland and we are coordinating aid efforts together. Turkiye has a lot of assets in Poland right now. While both sides are fighting we are delivering advanced munitions, EW systems, technical, intelligence, and battlefield assistance, and expertise to one side which means we are clearly, beyond a doubt, picking a side. We are doing it in such a way that it is very hard to prove and on paper, we are staying neutral. Erdoğans lip service, not closing Turkish airspace to Russian commercial flights serves that purpose.
Do not disclose every bit of information you happen to have.

Erdoğan never said we will be neutral.
Erdoğan said "we don't want to lose either side".

Russia is the aggressor and Ukraine is being attacked, preventing attacks does not equal to losing the attacker side. An Attacker already deserves punishment and this shouldn't be unjust for them.

Erdoğan's own son in law himself cheered for Ukraine personally so do not act like it is a hidden agenda.
And don't let your antipathy against Erdoğan shadow your judgement.

Bolsonaro finally reveals where Brazil will stand regarding Ukraine

Bolsonaro also pointed out an all-out war in the era of nuclear weapons “would be suicide.”
Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro finally made an explicit statement about his country’s stance regarding the Ukraine crisis following Russia’s invasion: The country shall remain “neutral.”
The head of state came open about this controversial issue during a press conference from Forte dos Andradas in Guarujá, on São Paulo’s Atlantic Ocean shore, where he is spending the Carnival holidays.

Bolsonaro explained Brazil would remain neutral so as not to bring on “the consequences of the conflict to the country.“
When asked about the siege that the Russian army is carrying out in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Bolsonaro said that it is an ”exaggeration to speak of a massacre.“

Bolsonaro baffled reporters after saying he had had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the latter did mention Ukraine. Bolsonaro then declined to go into any further details regarding the issue.

At first, it was unclear whether he was referring to an actual talk over the telephone Sunday. But later he explained he meant the conversations they had during his recent trip to Moscow Feb. 16.
”The whole world is connected and what happens 10,000 km away influences Brazil,“ Bolsonaro went on. ”We have to be very responsible, because we have businesses, especially with Russia. Brazil depends on fertilizers,“ he stressed.

He also spoke about Brazil's vote on the UN resolution. ”There is no sanction or condemnation for President Putin,“ he assured. ”Brazil's vote is not defined and is not tied to any power. Our vote is free and will be given in that direction [...]. Our position with [Foreign] Minister Carlos França is one of balance. And we cannot interfere. We want peace, but we cannot bring consequences here,“ Bolsonaro underlined.
When asked if he would continue with his speech of neutrality even after the advance of Russian troops through Ukrainian cities and possible civilian deaths, the president replied that ”a large part of the population of Ukraine speaks Russian“.
”They are practically sister countries. A massacre of civilians has not been heard of for a long time. It is not the tactic of any world leader to do that“, he added.
Regarding Kyiv’s siege by Russian troops, Bolsonaro said it was an “exaggeration to speak of a massacre.”
”I understand that there is no interest on the part of the Russian leader to carry out a massacre. He is working in two regions of southern Ukraine that, in a referendum, more than 90% of the population wanted to become independent, approaching Russia,” the President elaborated.
“My decision could bring serious damage to Brazil,“ he said. He also stressed the people of Ukraine had elected “a comedian to chart the nation's destiny.”
“I will wait for the UN report” to issue my opinion,” he concluded.
Bolsonaro, a retired Army captain, also pointed out an all-out war in the era of nuclear weapons “would be suicide.”
“We are not going to take sides; we are going to continue with neutrality and help in whatever way possible in search of a solution,” he insisted.
Bolsonaro is due back in Brasilia next Friday.

Israeli kamikaze UAVs and Spike missiles will be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible probably from Israeli stocks. EU bought them and will be giving to Ukraine.

This is really good politics. We should have this kind of politics from day one. No doubt the army is guiding erdogans hand. Worth pointing out that Russia losing in Ukraine makes their hand in Syria weaker and thus easier for us to navigate.
