I don't know if anybody follows Russian Forums or News articles but the longer the War takes the more frustrated Russian Patriots get. God knows how mostly rational Russians feel right now.

Initially they seemed rather optimistic and denied reports of TB2 strikes and downed Jets but now the frustration is obvious especially with sanctions, which will likely affect the average Russian much more than rich ones.

What has Putin achieved so far is ruining Russia's economy,turning Russia into a pariah state on par with North Korea,getting Europe and NATO even more united,making more and neutral countries wanting to join NATO (NATO expension which the Russians do not want) and last but not least showing the whole world the questionnable performance and quality of the Russian armed forces on the ground.

Putin made a huge miscalculation but now he is to stubborn to admit it. He made totally unrealistic and humiliating demands to Ukrainians. Unclear what will be his exit strategy.

Its safe to say that he destroyed Russian speaking Eastern Ukraine for good. Most of the refugees will never return.

He destroyed Russia as well. There will be a huge emigration of young talented people from Russia + reduction of birth rate as result of economic crisis. Thats while Russia was already experiencing a huge demographic crisis. Without access to technologies Russia wont be able to develop even pumping oil will be a problem, especially developing new sources of oil.

From now on Russia will be a fully depend on China, basically becoming a Chinese colony.
