We need to clarify something here, this decision was not pulled out of someone's ass at random, Russian government has way more info about what's going on than anyone on the internet so if they decided to recognize two republics and willingly trigger sanction response it means that they either:

1) Knew that sanctions would have been introduced anyway

2) Have done the math and knew that they can absorb the shock

I am assuming the reason why Ukraine was shelling as much as they can the day before yesterday was they probably wont do it again when the republics are recognized which is now the case. Invasion does not necessarily have to happen they can just fire back harder where Russia will be the new Israel and Ukraine the new Palestine where the entire world bitches about both countries being inhumane, but it won't change anything other than bitching and moaning about it here.
Many slavs dont realise that their ruling class is comprised of conquering germanic tribes. It was the Vikings who created the original Rus state.
Turkey use to be R1a dominant like those slavs, why is the majority of turkish DNA now semitic?

While I was scrolling here and there, I saw a video about Kadir misiroglu who exactly predicted Putin's actions several years ago..... and as he said, now Putin is trying to lay his hands on Azerbaijan (Iam not saying that everything he says is right since he did create a lot of controversy and stated a lot of bullshit during his days such as criticizing Ataturk and how the Arab didnt betray the turks (which I disagree with); however, he did understand how the world works at the very least)

After that Putin will move to the Baltic states and then to Turkey which he will then join with Syria

Putin for many may be a madman; however, there is a slight possibility that history may officially begin to change worldwide following Putin's actions. Who knows, Putin may succeed in reviving the USSR or even better or he may fail; yet, what Iam sure of is that in the current tidal change, if Turkey doesnt have the necessary means to protect itself, then we can all say bye bye to Turkey forever

For the next 2 decades, turks should be as patriots as possible and try to nationalise everything or both the West and the East will screw it and who knows what the new world order will look like. As the saying goes...... Better safe than sorry

Kadir mirisoglu might be a controversial man.

There is one book I would recommend which is Moscow Mezalimi.

There should be a english version of it. Basically outlines Russia's history also why Turkiye and Russia will never be allies but are basically arch nemesis and arch rivals. Also dives down into the Turkic history of Russia and how it influenced it for centuries.

Russians know a lot about Turks while we know a lot about them.

As history has proven again and again. "Calculations" are not always accurate. There's no plan that survive first contact (Clausewitz).

What happened to the German "calculations" when they invaded Europe or what happened to Japan's "calculations" on the start of the Pacific war ? Aren't both nation military commanders supposed to calculate the pros and cons of engaging in war ?

Remember Turkey should train the Crimean Tatars and Crimean Turks.

We should be using them to bleed russia.

Remember these are our historical lands also the Russians killed 30 to 40 Turkish soldiers.

Payback is way overdue to be honest. Not to mention we have defence and trade ties and those scumbag bears are gonna ruin it all.
We/West should use the Chechens card against Russia again.

China accuses U.S. of "creating panic" over Ukraine crisis and dismisses sanctions against Russia as ineffective

FEBRUARY 23, 2022 / 5:09 AM / CBS/AFP

BeijingChina on Wednesday accused the United States of "raising tensions" and "creating panic" over the Ukraine crisis, shortly after Washington announced new sanctions against Moscow and said it would continue to supply weapons to help bolster Ukraine's defenses against a potential Russian invasion.

The U.S. actions were "raising tensions, creating panic, and even playing up the schedule of war," foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told reporters.

"If someone is adding fuel to the fire while blaming others... then that behavior is irresponsible and immoral," she added, turning the spotlight on the United States in response to a question on China's role in resolving the situation.

She said China had "called on all parties to respect and attach importance to each other's legitimate security concerns, strive to resolve issues through negotiation and consultation, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability."

Asked if China would impose sanctions on Russia, Hua added that Beijing believes "sanctions have never been a fundamental and effective way to solve problems."
