Russian delegation declares start of ‘countdown’ in wait for adoption of Russian proposals

"There arrives a moment of truth when the West either accepts our proposals or other ways will be found to safeguard Russia’s security," the head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control Konstantin Gavrilov said

VIENNA, January 19. /TASS/. The West faces the moment of truth, which has started the countdown in wait for the adoption of Russian proposals on security guarantees addressed to the United States and NATO, Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control, said on Wednesday.
Gavrilov spoke at the meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation, which is first in 2022.
"There arrives a moment of truth when the West either accepts our proposals or other ways will be found to safeguard Russia’s security," Gavrilov said. "I am convinced that with goodwill and a willingness to compromise in any situation, it is possible to find a way out to mutually acceptable solutions. We are running out of time. The countdown begins."
The Russian diplomat believes that what is at stake is to minimize military spending and to resolve the security issues, which are not pressing for Russia alone, but for all the nations in Eurasia and the Euro-Atlantic area as well.

Gavrilov pointed out that the NATO actions had resulted in fragmentation of the pan-European space and inflicted huge damage to the authority of the OSCE, which has turned into a hostage of the narrow agenda of the "collective West."
In these circumstances, the Russian delegation will henceforth be coming up at the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation with just the issues that meet its own national interests, the head of the Russian delegation stressed.
On December 17, 2021, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a draft agreement with the United States on security guarantees and another one on measures ensuring the security of Russia and NATO member states. Russia-US consultations on these issues were held in Geneva on January 10. A Russia-NATO Council meeting was held in Brussels on January 12. On January 13, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich presented these proposals at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.

UKR / RUS conflict is the biggest exmaine of NATO. If NATO can't resist to RUS against UKR and then NATO should any longer lock its door permanently.

If this approach prevents the war ,why not? US won't bring missiles in to Ukraine, but European countries will supply weapons to Ukraine . Sounds not bad. With this approach Ukraine still could be a NATO member. Let's see.
Not meant to be offensive but on what expense, EU would have to swallow pill of Crimea/Donbas recognition and become russian bitch, that will be price set by russians.
Ukraina is on its own with limited amd symbolic support, basically betraid for their EU aspirations. Really sad situation for them.

The EU don't have to recognize. If Russians don't mind Ukraine become NATO member with some conditions, it will be great.

There's no need to make war.
I think that you are aware that russains would never allow that but for the sake of argument that they would there is no way they will drop out other issues related to Donbas/Crimea, so conflict would be in motion either way.

for people who had yet to realize, US and NATO supplied ATGM steadily destroy what was once the Middle East largest tank force

its a smart move to supply the Ukrainian with the Javelin and NLAW which is way more advanced and portable than the TOW missile supplied to the rebels in Syria. Russia's advantage in armor relative to Europe could be reversed.

This man is a submarine expert and does excellent videos. It is interesting his perspective, as its the basic US military perspective. Which in the end proves everything Russia fears to be utterly correct. So for me if you threaten Russia's second city they are going to nuke you, you utter idiots.

Nuking Ukraine?? İt must be a joke! I don't think Putin is stupid to create highly radiation rains just next to his country borders!

İf you nuked Kyiv, even Moscow residents would be affected as two cities are not far.

Near Kyiv how much million Russians live?

Even USSR couldn't nuke Afganistan however the country was 5000km far from Moscow. They just left the country. Putin could nuke just USA.

There is no obstacle to tactical nuclear missile firings. It's the symbolic message that matters. A few KN nuclear bomb wouldn't hurt the Russians.
