I hope they will actually start to SEND those AS 90.
Is been a year and so far they TALK about it while Poland already send 72 Krabs (not couting many, many 122mm Gozdiks)
They're training on them in Britain, right now. They've release several videos of them training lately.

The truth is that Ukraine really isn't lacking artillery pieces right now, so there isn't a huge rush to get them in country. What they're lacking is sufficient ammunition to fire 10,000+ rounds per day and really make the Russians suffer.

There are other groups training on Archers in Sweden right now and a group training on M109A6s in Germany. My understanding is that these groups are essentially being trained as well as possible, as they will be the artillery regiments / batteries that will be attached to attacking forces in Ukraine's offensive later this spring/ early summer. These units need enhanced training on combined arms assault. All of the American, Swedish and British artillery will be in country when it's needed, at the start of the offensive operations.

Serbia started selling 122 mm rockets for Grad launchers to Ukraine. This is first known case of Serbian weapons in Ukraine war.

Bosnian companies on the other hand are making record sales of 152 and 122 mm artillery ammo.Buyers are private companies mostly from the UK.Since their army doesnt use that ammo one could only assume where are they going.

The Russian army began to use FPV kamikaze drones "Boomerang". The advantages of an FPV drone over conventional drones are the low cost of equipment, high flight speed, it is difficult to intercept the drone with an anti-drone gun, since it has no connection with satellites. It is convenient for the operator to control the drone through VR glasses, with the help of these glasses he becomes one with the drone and sees the flight direction well. The drone is armed with a container with striking elements and equipped with a fuse. Cons FPV drone, short range and flight time.

152-mm self-propelled howitzer 2S3 "Acacia" of the Ukrainian army, came under attack from the Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet". After the drone hit, the ammunition of the self-propelled unit detonated. Judging by the video, part of the crew escaped because they noticed the approach of the Lancet drone in time.

Footage of an unsuccessful launch of missiles from the Grad MLRS was published by Ukrainian servicemen. The reasons for the unsuccessful launch are not reported, versions are expressed from problems with missiles to the defeat of the installation by Russian troops. In total, the Ukrainian army is now armed with about 185 BM-21 Grad MLRS.

Footage of powerful strikes by Russian heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A Solntsepek in Ukraine has been published. Before the start of the infantry offensive, on the positions of the Ukrainian army in the city, the combat vehicle TOS-1A "Solntsepek" begins to work. After being hit by a thermobaric munition, at the epicenter of the explosion, the temperature rises to three thousand degrees. Now the Russian heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A has begun to be modernized

For example countries like bulgaria and romania are geopolitically, culturally and historically insignificant compared to what Turkiye is and the wider world Turkiye can access like the Turkic states or so called Muslim world. Yet these nations who were communists yesterday can leapfrog Turkiye.
One can dream about it, like Russians dreamed about Ukrainians joining Russia. Reality might be different.
The EU's problem is they want to balkanise us and harm us. Hence their support for PKK terrorists, supporting greek hostility and chasing armenian dreams. All are intended to do us what Ataturk crushed at the end of world war one.
Believe me, EU has so many things on table, Turks do not come even close to first 100 in priority list. Unless of course Erdogan sends another 200 000 Syrian immigrants over the EU border. Then you get Scholz visiting Erdogan, quickly.
Its very possible that if Turkiye was a full member of the EU that we would rise to become its most significant member. Our population is already bigger then the rest of the EU, on top of this there is another 10 to 20 million Turks in Europe already. Once our west is secured its obvious that the middle east, caucases and central asia as well as north africa would come into the fold.
Now you hit the point. Small countries do have equal rights to decide over issues in EU. Bring Turkey in and this balance will be broken.
Now the benefit to the EU is that she could become a truly global power who has the ability to show herself capable of respecting the rest of the worlds cultures, religions and traditions. But they dont want that, they want to harm us, balkanise us and hope they can take the land and redistribute it to others.
Agree with the first part, disagree with the last sentence. Actually we do not care anough abou Turkey to harm you. Live yourself and let others to live.
Truth be told the EU is a criminal organisation that if given an army would behave just as bad as Russia behaves. It was a good the UK left.
Some arguments perhaps to support this truth? We have an army, each EU country has ìts own one. I do not see them behaving as badly as Russians do. Do you? Does UK do well these days?

Is the common Russian as sick as this? When you look at the iraq war as a comparison in england we had the largest ever protests this country has seen against it. If you ask most people about the iraq war in england today they will call it an unjust war. You get the impression in Russia its the other way around not only are the majority of russians onboard with it, but they have a sick twisted mentality where they want to see death and destruction.

The other one was the leaked telephone call between a russian invader and his girlfriend back home, his own girlfriend is telling her husband/boyfriend to rape as many Ukrainian women as possible.

I get you always get one or two sick f'ks in war situations, but nearly everytime we hear from russians its the same sick twisted shit. Meanwhile they parade like they are defenders of the faith against the sick west.

It's amazing what a year of 24/7 brainwashing will do to people. They really believe that Ukraine, together with NATO was just about to attack Russia if they didn't invade.
Iam pretty sure however that minorities in Russia do not share this same view, you know those minorities that are actually doing most of the fighting and dying. Its easy to "continue as long as necessary" when citizens of Moscow and St.Petersburg are living life as usual while all of the fighting is done by Dagestanis,Chechens,Tuvans or Russians who are from poor areas (or convicts) that no one cares about.

Yah but tbh, the "ex-Tsarist Russia, ex-USSR" rodina psyche probably only really compares to English (well Plantagenet) one in the 100 years war with the Valois (in what we call France now).

If such situation persevered and existed today by whichever hypothetical course of history from then to now (including extreme political oligarch forms of govt and how it gains public trust/approval/coercion in the way this almost specifically exists in Russia), I would venture you would see much of the same phenomenon.

i.e Iraq and even WW2 had far more stabilised form of what nationstates were....so one's own irredentism (regarding where my army has been, rather than what my citizens/blood-brothers are) is fairly nominal factor in most areas this convo comes up....and the issue basically becomes was there basis for my army to have been there to do what it did.....as opposed to inherent territory/people (that if I dont have direct sovereignty over, at least should fully defer to my consolidated geopolitical sense given the inertia of the prior etc etc)....given weight of time and investment in all sense that existed for the time that did.

The issue is that Russia does not recognise Ukraine as a fundamentally separate sovereign nationstate....especially with the borders Ukraine has.

This psyche situation became quite clear in the Georgian intervention already....and several political developments, arguments and policies that were going on within Ukraine after the 1990s low point (for Russia).

It was not prepared or accounted for well...and there were obviously some large miscommunications and misjudgements.

Now the sting of war will entrench it all much further long term. This will be a baked in permanent feature again in Europe's calculus....in that sense a number of delusions (carefully built up by elitist class that I despise across the world) have been removed.

Shooting by Russian fascists of a Ukrainian prisoner of war after he said "Слава Украине" (Glory to Ukraine)

If i were Russian i wouldn't release this sort of video. I suspect this will only empower and strengthen the resolve of Ukrainians. Dude goes out like a boss saying "Slavia Ukraine" giving no F'ks whatsoever that they are going to execute him.

Ataturk said, "A nation which makes the final sacrifice for life and freedom does not get beaten."

The video really typifies everything the Russians didnt expect to be facing. They were expecting an easy and quick victory with Ukrainians capitulating. Instead a year into the war even the soldiers/priosoners they are going to execute the Ukrainians even when directly facing death have not lost hope in the goal.

From day one i just personally hoped that Turkiye sent as much equipment as possible. Would be nice to see the larger drones with relevant munitions like the cruise missiles, longer range ballistic missiles and an assortment of suicide drones. If we got issues with upsetting Russia and we need to maintain the façade that we are neutral, just pretend its sold to Poland and then Poland gives it the Ukranians. The Polish got no issues with upsetting Russia.

There are Turks who have their reasons to be against such massive support, but they must realise that the suffering and sacrifice they are enduring means that we won't face it. If the Russians annexed Ukraine the chances of a similar war against Turkiye conducted by Russia becomes far more possible.
