all missiiles rather if they fly a simple trajectory or a trajectory where they manuever throughout their flights all the ranges are already taken accounted for when they push the information to the public. Even the proposed Klevok-D2 that has the same dimensions and warhead that is twice as heavy as Hermes ends up having more than 1.5 times the range with the same or even perhaps better manueverability. I am willing to even bet you have absolutely no idea that the PRSM is a proposed missile with a longer range than the ATACMs with the addition of manuevering capabilities. Its hard to believe but technology has progressed where we have missiles having almost the same dimensions more range and even maneuving capabilites than previous generation missiles, its crazy man.Yes true, but the fundamental problems remain...
in a fighter jet, when you pull 9G you lose energy much more quickly than <9G, to compenaste this fighter jets
- it's mainly a solid fueled aircraft that can't control the optimal thrust during entire flight
- once the rocket motor is out, its all the kinetic energy that left, there's no more propulsion left
- the energy would bleed fast in those maneuvering sequence, especially when the missile is maneuvering in a CONSTANT and high G manner throughout flight
- and many more questionable claims
- apply max thrust through out the maneuver (thrust is constant here)
- level flight
- dive
Thats because you have shown time and time again you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about that I am interested in you telling me what are the benefits air breathing missiles have over BMs?all 3 of which is missing in the Zircon...
Anyway this is not the 1st time Russia failed to met its hype and it will not likely be the last. But you could fool yourself if you want.
LMAO instead of the mental gymnastics just say the HTV-2 is a failure and the U.S. can't make something like Avangard. Hell you can even go explain to me why the U.S. wanted scramjet research material from the kholod project if you are saying they have more talent and moneyIn the end research needs two important thing, money and talent. Which Russia is not on par with the States. Russia has a lot less money and talents aren't flocking towards Russia, instead its now leaving Russia.
Its actually questionable how countries that is late in the research of hypersonic field this thing in the first place. The HTV-2 might be a failure in flight but the data of HTV 2 and 3 test is the more important one here, cause it is the basis of further development and improvement.. So how come Zircon etc does success in an instant without any data to improve upon
No surprise though, this is the country that labels its non AESA Su-35 as 4+++++ gen fighter lol.
Still better than the U.S. dubbing 5th + as 6th gens
