So you're telling me that there is no S-300 or S-400 cover in all of Berdyansk, Mariupol, Melitopol, Donetsk City, Luhansk City, etc, where Ukraine has been striking with impunity this week? No systems in / near any of those places, that can intercept Storm Shadow cruise missiles? Ukraine is free to hammer Russian held positions in those occupied areas?

Sign me up!

I know it may sound crazy, but let me explain.

First and foremost, you can't do Area defence against cruise missile strikes,
it is mostly point defence.

And there are hundreds of Russian outposts distributed all around those cities. Few batteries of S-300/S-400 (which are brought in mostly to provide A2D bubbles against Ukrainian aircrafts) are not gonna be able to defend most of those outposts.

And it make sense, because it is not logical nor possible to deploy strategic heavy AD batteries to defend hundreds of temporary and small outposts.

Systems like S-300 or S-400 is only deployed to protect strategic permanent bases. Or to provide wider A2D bubbles against aircrafts for division/brigade level manuever forces. (Which is the case here)

Secondly, even though Russians has Kub, Buk and Pantshir type smaller units deployed in greater numbers, still they are not efficient enough.
(In addition to that, smaller and old systems are not that much capable either against Ultra-modern threats.)

Given this is the situation, we cannot accurately verify if S-300/S-400 batteries are constantly failing to intercept Ukrainian deep strike package. (Because there are way too many variables are in play here.)

Let's see what others think. @Gary

Not constantly failing, but clearly fails the hype. I grow up reading comments about just how formidable the S-300/400 series are, also now in my lifetime I have the chance to see just how bad it is.

Multiple drones entering Russia as far as Moscow and hitting strategic bomber air base and you have the impression that the Russian AD just not adequate for the job, especially that the attack comes from country like Ukraine.

Okay, that is not totally fair. You don’t expect long range AD systems to engage 500 bucks drones, do you? It is a failure of management and integration. Not the Fault of stand-alone systems.

Pretty humilating how the Russian War aims was keep the war out of Russia.

Now Moscow and St Petersburg can be striked with a cheap drone.

Now Russians will question how the war is going when their cities can even be attacked.

Mathias Rust plane worth more than 500 bucks. The value of the drone or plane, doesn't have anything to do with the cost of downing it, if we are speaking of single attacks not massive ones sustained in time.
The value of material goods and people potentially involved, would be much more valuable than any AD missile.

This is just embarassing RU, so Shoigu had to announce today that 29 Storm Shadow missiles were destroyed and another patriot battery in Kyiv. Soon they will destroy more Patriot batteries than actually were built.

Look at the date:

This question has been answered on the battlefield with Ukraine launching Buk, S-300 against drones.

Yes they will spent those missile on cheap atrittable drones to keep major population centers safe.

So either Russia is creating another false flag, or an anti- Russian Partisan group launched drones in an attempt to get Moscow's attention.

Either way, the residence of Kyiv have lived in terror for more than a year, as Russia has attempted to bomb / freeze them to death, launching hundreds of missiles and drones at their city and its infrastructure, killing many civilians along the way... It's about time that the people of Moscow have to live in fear a little bit as well. They ignorantly support this invasion, as they go about their lives. It's nice to see some apartment buildings and civilian infrastructure suffer a little bit. Even if it turns out to be as the result of a false flag.

What were these drones?

According to Russian media and eyewitnesses, more than 30 drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region, but the Russian Defense Ministry traditionally stated that they shot them all down.

(Ukrainians are joking with the drone "Lorak" and trolling Singer "Ani Lorak")

So, according to their information, eight drones were shot down in Moscow itself, five more UAVs were liquidated by the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun system in the Moscow region, of which three allegedly lost control and deviated from their intended targets.

Despite this, in Moscow, after the drone attack, satellite navigation signals began to be jammed. Drivers and taxi drivers complain about GPS malfunctions. And for the Russian law enforcement officers, the Typhoon plan was announced - the collection of personnel who are involved in the elimination of the consequences of an emergency.

As suggested by RosSMI, one of the drones that attacked Moscow today was the Ukrainian UJ-22 Airborne strike drone, manufactured by Ukrjet, which is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 800 kilometers. But Russian experts have already refuted this information.

The drone attack on the Russian capital is "a clear sign of terrorist activity," Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the drone attack on Moscow and threatened the Ukrainians with a "mirror response".

First confirmed footage of a destroyed S-400 SAM component. It's an S-400 command post and it was destroyed in the Kherson Region in a HIMARS strike.

Unlike the Russians who flap their gums about destroying Patriot systems, without a shred of actual evidence, here is visual proof of Russia's best air defense system letting GMLRS through.

Italy 🇮🇹 is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine. In customary Italian fashion, the contents of the package will not be confirmed by the government until after it's delivered.

According to Italian outlet Repubblica, however, the package will include additional small arms ammunition, 155mm artillery shells and missiles for the previously donated SAMP/T air defense system that Italy and France provided.
