Ok...carry on with your fight.
When fight for women at Afghanistan,
don't forget about the rest of the world. 😄
Leave it, they missed autentic testimony from expat afgan women who came back and described how women had right to be sex slaves to the police and army commanders and so on...
Indians on this topic are just using drug known as copium because they know their west border is once again exposed for inflitration without ramifications.

There is a certain element of truth to this. There is no way Taliban would have gained so much ground without a pre arranged agreement between Taliban , America and Ghani. Its like every Ghani appointed military commander out right surrendered. Those who stood their ground was some of the local warlords who have all now run away and crossed the border into neighboring countries. Which also seems very suspicious.
Warlords there have always been up for sale

Mind your language people.

There does seem to be some radicals here not caring about rights and such.

Even people who believes in Taliban on fickle ground.

But Taliban isn’t a government institution as it comprises of tribes and warlords. And every warlord has his own way of interpreting things.

Taliban will have to divide power and even submit to a judiciary of sorts to start earning trust.

Taliban cannot afford to allow free education because that would undermine their emirati construction. So they will go back bring Taliban.

I’d really love to be proven wrong here. But I’m not.
Exactly the big question that time will answer, that if the Taliban will ever be able to control Afg as a centralized state.

Or they will be Northern alliance 2.0 with another insurgency picking up to topple them.

Many people seems to forgot that the Afghan government of today was once the Taliban of the day against the (then) Communists govt.

This is why some area's of the ME actually requires military dictatorship like Saddam, Assad or Gaddafi. As Imperfect as they may be. They know very well how to control these elements. Any efforts for change should never be with military force or a brutal dislodging of power. Things can be done gradually, over generations.
Afghanistan is the perfect example of what happens when you give power to people who live in the stone age.

If you want to believe Telegram rumors, then Amrullah Saleh will begin a resistance Movement from Panjshir against the Taliban.

use salt as required...

I'm not so much into rumors, but I'm well aware of other actors contra to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

So again time will tell. And all those talks about China + some countries willing to recognize Taliban?

I hope it's not a source of regret in later days.

Remember, the US retreated from Afghanistan solely on the purpose of great power competition. That means thay have calculated that withdrawing will do them more good and cause harm to whatever adversaries they have.

There won't be any insurgency against them for a number of reasons;

1. The top commanders have either been captured;

Or capitulated;

Age has also caught up with them and there is no one to fill the void.

2. The spread of Taliban teachings among other ethnic groups aside Pashtuns has been unprecedented. Now large numbers of Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazara (yes you read that right) ascribe themselves to the movement. One of the biggest regions why the North fell so fast was that the fighting was spearheaded by ethnic groups from the region who now follow the Taliban.

3. Just who is willing outside to back such an insurgency? It's expensive, the world is still in a limbo due to the pandemic, and any actions always bring about fallout. The nations around Afghanistan haven't got the will for active intervention.

It's Afghanistan. There is always someone waiting to topple the regime.

There are dime a dozen war lords there, Taliban themselves is a decentralized force. You kill one leader and another pops up. Next few months will be interesting to see what happens. If Taliban manages to stabilize the entirety of Afghanistan or if factions popup within the Taliban.

Not this time round, people are unaware of many ground realities. The chief of these that the Taliban are not exclusively Pashtun anymore.
Toppling people needs vast resources, which at this time no one has and nor will do for the foreseeable future.

I doubt they will even listen to each other and will probably splinter into factions based on region and ethnicity. Old habits die hard.

Slightly incorrect, north been under attack for quiet a few months now. Ghani never bothered to either send supplies or reinforcements. As for insurgency, it is not that expensive to arm an insurgency against a state let alone Taliban. Plenty of people there willing to sell themselves for a few $$. Nothing against Afghans. Truth of every poverty stricken area.

What is even more stunning is President Biden is on a two week vacation when this is happening. Either Biden is stupid, or those in power sent him of for two weeks to salvage this situation.

Let me correct that for you.

If there's no insurgency, then make one

Here's the thing, Taliban is a decentralized org, this is no longer one man show during the Mullah Omar era, the only thing that unites Talibs is the common enmity of US occupation in the land and the suffering it brought. Hence no wonder why some Hazaras, Uzbek or Tajiks now join the fight. Basically the ANA is just to corrupt and brutal in its conduct of war that it isolates the rural people into embracing Taliban.

as history and recent events showed us, the loyalty of the so called "Top commanders" are at best FLUID.

and here's my favorite card of all time. the Uyghurs.

it's very naive to think that ultra conservatives will just bow down to Chinese money and forgot the Uyghurs persecution right next door like some members here suggest, maybe for the Taliban top delegation in Doha but not for the rank and file in the ground (including many field commanders) who have a deep sense of loyalty . Being a decentralized org, there's always room for an eventual split.

these people are people that basically believe that when they die, they will go to heaven and they're fighting for the just cause of Allah. It's hard to underestimate the fealty to fellow muslims next door.

I watch this interview with PBS on Afghan Taliban and they say thing s like this = " Even if we die, we WIN". So the possibility of rogue element goes berserk are still a big possibility , because they believe even if such things are illogical it doesn't matter, what they know is they will be rewarded by god.

Now who's going to guarantee some recently high on victory men from wrecking havoc towards the disbelievers next doors ???
The west would only need to propagate those Uyghur stories harder and louder, it'll eventually do the job done.

winning wars=/=successful nation building, ISIS was just as successful militarily in Iraq and Syria right before they declare their caliphate.
it's an open question if Taliban will be capable to hold the entire nation, also noting that many of their fighters will be demobilized as they've won the war.

For some demobilized fighter, life will goes on as usual. But in Jihadis case that's hardly the norm, most will want to continue their Jihad, and what's the best motivation for them knowing that right next door , next to the Wakhan corridor there's millions of muslim population under genocide from an evil atheistic commie regime. Sounds like a good plot for the CIA to exploit ??? no???

If Taliban manage to curb them then OK, now what if they don't???

Are some countries gonna follow the foot step of Alexander, GB, USSR and the USA in Afghanistan ???

if yes, the said countries just give team Biden a huge win. :ROFLMAO:

The attacks were probes, most of the work was done by their own men from the ethnic groups there. If Gani sent substantial ANA there it wouldn't have done much.
Insurgency isn't not expensive, according to who?
How many Afghans do you know i.e. they're willing to sell themselves? You'll find the vast majority want to live in peace. The numbers willing to pick up arms again are rare.

I doubt they will even listen to each other and will probably splinter into factions based on region and ethnicity. Old habits die hard.

They laid the groundwork for nearly twenty years....The idea of sending emissaries was frowned by the old Taliban, but the 'neo' Taliban started the groundwork on other groups. You now can see the results. Pashtun Taliban will not be in the Northern Areas, it will X ethnic group Taliban.
