Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia alleged that one of the presidential candidates is being lobbied by foreign bodies to reopen nickel ore exports.

Ada capres yang diloby negara lain biar dibolehin lagi ekspor biji nikel.
Kalau iya maka Indonesia cukup menjadi negara miskin, ekspor barang mentah sementara negara maju bakal tambah kaya dengan mengolah SDA negara miskin.

Liat aja nanti kalo kepilih trus dibolehin lagi ekspor biji nikel.

Need to improve the ecosystem industry here, so the raw materials can be processed to finished products, there is over supply locally because currently we are unable to process it further meanwhile other country are salivating to get our nickel so they can process it. We can't just stop exporting nickel ore but also to build factory that can process those nickel ore.

If nickel ore are worthless then other country won't be losing their shet with Indonesia and no need to lobby about it.

Just look at our impressive teeny weeny neighbor (Singapore), they don't have oil field yet they are the undisputed oil hub of Asia, and their petroleum industry contributed a lot to their economy.

Why can't we dream to become the electric car hub of Asia? We have the natural resources, what we don't have is expertise, money for investment etc. But we can work on that, at least we already have the natural resources (most of it I think).

We should invite foreign car maker and related company to build their factory here, Japan, South Korea, China, Europe, US etc. Or some rich Indonesian that have balls to make their own company.

Bikin pabrik EV brand luar disini itu emang bisa jadi salah satu cara. Tapi jangan lupa juga kl salah satu alasan kenapa ini: "what we don't have is expertise" adalah krn dukungan buat riset ilmiah disini itu masih jauh dari ideal.

Gini aja ilustrasinya: udah dari berapa tahun coba grup2 otomotif Jepang bikin kantor dan pabrik disini? Terus apa ada mesin-mesin motor bebek nasional yang bukan brand Jepang yang diproduksi?

Gw sih pingin liat kalo Indonesia gak sekedar hanya undang produsen2 EV luar buat pabrik disini, tapi juga mbok ya pemerintah kasih lebih banyak dukungan ke lembaga-lembaga terkait buat riset teknologi EV secara mandiri. Karena kalo gak, ya kita cuma jadi 'tukang jahit' aja walaupun kasarnya teknologi EV itu lebih sederhana dari mesin BBM.
