Just look at our impressive teeny weeny neighbor (Singapore), they don't have oil field yet they are the undisputed oil hub of Asia, and their petroleum industry contributed a lot to their economy.
Why can't we dream to become the electric car hub of Asia? We have the natural resources, what we don't have is expertise, money for investment etc. But we can work on that, at least we already have the natural resources (most of it I think).
We should invite foreign car maker and related company to build their factory here, Japan, South Korea, China, Europe, US etc. Or some rich Indonesian that have balls to make their own company.
