menurutku, kapal-kapal PB kyk PC-40 seharusnya punya fungsi sekunder buat pertahanan udara, terutama anti-rudal jelajah land attack macam Kalibr yang dioperasikan Nguyen, yang terbangnya cenderung lurus dan rendah. Apalagi kapal-kapal PC-40 semuanya udah dilengkapi meriam high RoF high angle autocannon kyk Merlin WS 30, MSI Seahawk 30, Aselsan SMASH. Hitung-hitung ngurangi beban arhanud berbasis darat kyk Skyshield, Type 80, ZSU-23 dll.

Ya kalau ada uang buat dianggarkan sih why not ? Kalau RCWS kan nilai tambah nya biasanya udah full axis stabilization + integrated sight, jadi ga kepayahan tuh nembak rudal sambil digoncang ombak, kebanyakan meriam 20mm Yugoimport ini kan dipasang di kapal patroli yang seakeeping nya payah.

Rapim TNI–Polri 2024 Wednesday. Jokowi as President and Prabowo as MoD would be there, maybe gonna talk about transition of power and any possibilities that could be happen during the official KPU announcement of winner March 21, don’t know about legislative right of inquiry would be there or not, but I’m sure they have plan about any possibilities. Top leaderships of TNI and Polri are Jokowi’s yes-men, 1998 scenario of ‘not presence in Jakarta during the riot’ not the matter anymore, nothing to worry for the President.

“South Korean defense minister Shin Won-sik said the U.S. will have to “give up its global leadership” if it gives into North Korean extortion and abandons its alliance with Seoul, responding to concerns of a shift in American policy if Donald Trump returns to office.”

Indonesia needs export based economy, and not only hoping for investments (especially FDI) and consumptions for economic growth. Many people may think that FDI is they way to make our exports increasing, but see how the FDI going, is it enough? before it’s too late.

I think about government intervention to Maspion. The goods they are selling will always be needed, but yet can’t even compete against electronic appliances made by LG, Samsung, etc now, even domestically. They need to dominate domestic market before become global player.

I actually also thinking about Astra, but because the majority owner of it is not in Indonesia anymore, the hope smaller. Yes, they already exports their products, but the market share is smaller compare to Thailand. Toyota and others are the decision makers of how much who must exports, not the Astra itself. The talents actually already here, it is a good capital if someone wants to be the player in automotive industry.

About natural resources and its downstreaming (hilirisasi), all eyes put too much attention to it, yet the efforts is too big than growing our potential above that we already have. For it is to rely on FDI that slow and hard to made, whatever the reason is, and still, yes we not export raw nickels, but still it just the intermediate products (half finished products), not the finished products, because not many here need intermediate products. We export the half finished products and still imports the finished goods, those who make the finished goods needs to be here too, and believe me, if the two sectors above growing, don’t need to be specific the Maspion or Astra, from the upstream to downstream will be good for our economy.

Two must needed are talents (the workforce) and rule of law. We don’t have experience on this sector compare to Malaysia, means low on talent and I must say, bad rule of law. The law exists here are the words of bureaucrats that asking for some favors (kickbacks), not rule of law, but rule by law, sak enake seng nyekel perijinan. Even we need to pay gratifications (read: bribe) to make our driving license, what about something with bigger values like giant investments?

rule by law
And because we don’t have governmental independent watchdog for this anymore (KPK), civil societies and legislatives are the only choice to make this thing not left unchecked. But if the legislatives just become government rubber stamps, if not sleeping, what you expect from them for checks and balances.

Or worse, anggota dewan ikutan main proyek juga, contoh E-KTP. Proyeknya dipegang rekanan yang ponakannya Setya Novanto sendiri, yo susah bos.

Even though Singapore is not good in democracy, but those in power relatively not abusing their power. One of the best country for their rule of law even.

Imagine Indonesia without democracy and everything left unchecked, I’m sure the situation would be worse than now. Many here want Indonesia to back like the time of Soeharto again, hey, he was called as “Mr. 25 percent” not because of nothing, he was an absolute rule by law actor and abuse of power everywhere.

Searching about potential semiconductor investments in Southeast Asia, and the strongest animo is towards Vietnam.
Not new reports tho

Vietnam is not fully fledged communist country anymore with anti-capitalist (anti-pemilik modal) views anymore, they are open for business now. I don’t know why, but usually when communist countries started to open for business, they are langsung pinter make market economy.

Their Corruption Perception Index also better than Indonesia, suka gak suka gini.

Thats the plus being ruled by single party entity.
If the single party or sole leadership is corrupt, that would be left unchecked. No party poopers doing the checks and balances.

Nevermind about Indonesia. It’s easy for predators to bribes politicians and bureaucrats because the law is not standing firmly.

I know that many countries like Kenya, Lebanon, Sri Lanka according to NYT yearning for benevolent dictator like Lee Kuan Yew. The question is, are those people really put trust to individual that much? Integrity is given, not taken for granted with no string attached by put so much trust on a leader.
