Russians lost so many former Tsarist and Soviet territory it barely made a dent on their country.
Russia still has the lands it conquered and colonised intact while most empires in lost their lands over time.

So are they going to have Ukraine join NATO or not? Because anymore stalling is going to result in more Russian subs entering service with scramjet missiles which might be troublesome for any Navy and once that problems continues growing big, you will also have to focus on China.
