As much as I love him, he is literally saying what every politician has said, including the one's who want refugees out... There is nothing extraordinary in what he said here. And just because the neighbourhood retaliated, doesn't mean that the refugees should stay.
It's easy for people to tell citizens to calm down, to not attack Syrians and Afghans, etc. However if they were in the shoes of the people in Altindag they would join the attacks too. When your people are getting killed, your kids and women are getting raped and your finances have suffered due to millions of refugees you eventually snap. The people of Turkey have had ENOUGH.
Everything is failing and one of our only success stories, the defence industry, is being used as a political tool for Erdogan.
