Interesting development if Türkiye gets the Malaysian trainer project, that will set an example for Hurjet. Anyway TAI activity in SE Asia is a smart move.

I'm kind of confused. Everybody offered trainers and light-attack aircraft but Russia's only offer apperantly was the Mig-35 ?

Apparently the officials have received guarentees on the delivery of engine on Hürjet.

So they have no fallback plan.

🤬
Why must we never learn for God's sake
I believe Turkey has been embargoes more than enough and many critical projects have been delayed more than enough to AT least learn the bloody lesson: NEVER EVER LEAVE YOUR PROJECTS TIED TO THE BLOODY WEST

now what will Turkey do when the West brings out some lame excuse to embargoe another project? Will we also wait for 6 to 7 more years for Hurjet? Pls no! Turkey must have an alternative plan

Actually there were some slides on forums that there was a planned ai322f twin engine variant of Hurjet.
However, Hurjet is planned to be a light attack and training jet that embargoes would be less of an issue to get licence and export approval. However, that does not mean there is not any risks involved.

Because we neither have tens of thousands of engineers at TEI nor the economy to finance all the projects at once. We have to use the resources effectively. It's the bitter reality.

“HÜRJET's ground tests will start in 2022”

1639574163468.png

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) is one of the largest technology centers in Turkey, where many products are designed and manufactured, from fixed-rotary wing air platforms to unmanned aerial vehicles and space systems.

The ongoing work in this center is also carried out by TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. We talked to Temel Kotil.

R&D Team of 3 Thousand People

Turkish Aerospace Industries, which carries out important projects in the field of Space, another field of activity, and brings GÖKTÜRK 1, GÖKTÜRK 2 communication satellites to the sky, continues its integration and testing activities in important projects such as GÖKTÜRK 3 and GÖKTÜRK 1Y projects, as well as TÜRKSAT 6A. The company, which will export Turkey's first satellite to Argentina, carries out satellite testing activities at the first and only full-range Space Systems Integration and Test (USET) Center in Turkey, located in a few developed countries that have a say in the field of space.

Turkish Aerospace Industries, which carries out very important works in the field of civil aviation besides military aviation, is among the strategic production partners of the world's most important aviation companies such as Boeing and Airbus. Reinforcing all these activities with R&D activities, Turkish Aerospace Industry is the R&D leader of Turkey in the field of aviation, with more than 3 thousand R&D employees and R&D expenditures of over 3 Billion TL.

With a total of more than 11,000 employees, Turkish Aerospace Industries continues to design the aviation technologies of the future today and adds strength to Turkey's independent and unique aviation ecosystem with its pioneering character.

New Export Contracts On The Way

A unique and national training aircraft that can fly in any country in the world with the HÜRKUŞ EASA Certificate and is among the safest training aircraft in the world with its ejection seat. When HÜRKUŞ is considered in terms of its features, it is also popular abroad with its many versions. We will continue our efforts to accelerate our deliveries and export agreements next year.

HURJET's Ground Tests to Begin

Parts production started for HURJET, which was originally designed as a Jet Trainer. In this context, it is aimed to complete the parts and start ground tests in 2022. In the field of defense industry, we continue our work in a way that will stick to the calendars of all our projects that will add strength to our country.

New Test Centers for MMU

Based on all of these efforts, we continue our efforts for 2022, a critical year in which critical stages will be completed for the ATAK2, HURJET Jet Trainer and National Combat Aircraft, which are the original products of the Turkish Aviation and Space Industry, and important developments that will take our country through the league will be experienced. As we continue with our T129 ATAK deliveries, we will achieve another important milestone in which we will deliver GÖKBEY to the Gendarmerie Forces. At the same time, we aim to accelerate delivery and export agreements in our HÜRKUŞ project.

We aim to add new ones to our works that will add strength to the future with important facilities such as the Subsonic Wind Tunnel, Lightning Test Facility, Radar Cross Section Test Facility and the "Ironbird" Test Facility, which we will bring to the aviation ecosystem of our country within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft.

Eventually we'll get there. But right now people are comparing planes again ffs. Stop doing that.

You can get the latest Iphone or buy Vestels smart phone (any model). Which is better ? Which is more reliable ? which smart phone do you guys have ?

Why didn't you buy a Vestel Smart phone ? is there a domestic laptop, tablet product... why didn't you buy that but went with Samsung, Lenovo, macbook, HP ?

We will eventually get there. even if MMU/TF-X was a 4th gen. It would still be a priceless accomplishment.

That is why we're saying Hurjet is the single most important accomplishment to be delivered! It's the proof.
Hürjet will be a very important milestone that will give big credibility to the TF-X program. We might have superior systems on paper but producing the subsystems and putting the plane together might prove substantially harder than the design phase. Hence we shouldn't count the chickens before they hatch.

- APU for Autonomous Operations
- Air-Air, Air-Ground Firing Capability

ROLES
• Combat Readiness Transition Training • Light Attack (Close Air Support) • “Red Aircraft” Mission in Trainings • Air Patrol (Armed and Unarmed)
• Acrobatic Demonstration Aircraft

I feel like Hürjet as a Platform is quite solid and its going to be flexible in its roles.
TAI Hürjet seems identical to KAI T-50 Golden Eagle, which is a good thing.

The Hürjet is also quite cheap compared to a T129 ATAK Helicopter.

"Malaysian Air Force has allocated a budget of $ 961.6 million for a fleet of (18) light attack aircraft."
> 53 Million USD per Plane.

"The Philippines will pay 269,388,862 USD for 6 T129 ATAK helicopters."
> 45 Million USD per Heli.

I don't Expect a 2 Engine Variant of HÜRJET due to not having enough Money.

1639866539481.png

What should be considered is an Upgrade of the selected Engine.

The F404 delivers 78 kN Thrust for the Trainer Variant.
The almost identical F414 delivers ~ 100 kN Thrust which could be selected for the Combat Variant especially helpful for TCG Anadolu.

The F414 is the Engine used in Jas 39 Gripen-E but the Gripen has 30m2 Wing area while Hürjet has a Wing area of 35m2.

Additional Info:

TAI hasn't released the Final Look of HÜRJET!
The mockup which everybody has seen is from 2018 and has wing area of 24m2 which has been increased to 35m2

The F16 has a wing area of 28m2
The Hürjet old has 24m2
The Hürjet New has 35m2

The Wing area on Hürjet is crazy big which might due to TAI planning big. Perhaps Considering a Engine Swap with more Payload.

Dassault Mirage 2000C has wing area of ~ 40m2 on a Wingspan 9.2m
For Visual Reference on the Wing area
