And delegate patrol duty fully to other agencies like Bakamla. That way they can focus their operational budget, crews, logistics on bigger ships.
Divest all 14 Parchim
Divest the remaining non-modernized Fatahillah FF
Divest all 5 Van Speijk FFG
Divest all 3 Badik FAC
Transfer policing duties to Bakamla/Polair or whatever
Relegate the remaining U-209/1300 to training duties
The money saved from upkeep and operationalization of those dinosaurs could be used to help ease the burden on finance of :
Modernizing all 3 F2000 FFG with sensors and armament close to the Σ class frigate
Prepare for Diponegoro class MLU
Invest in all the planned major surface combatants (2 AH140, 6 FREMM, 4 Mogami ?? etc)
Invest in all planned submarines
Stock-up munitions
Taking into account the recent navy re-organization and their stated goals towards rebalancing all 3 fleets with uniform capability (no more favoritism towards one articular fleet ).
Each Koarmada should have an equally strong independent surface combatants division, independent submarine division and each with an equally capable air wing, equally capable sealift command.
it's main formation is something like this:
Koarmada 1 :
- 1 AH 140 (Multirole *AAW)
- 2 FREMM Bergamini (Multirole *ASW)
- 1 F2000 (Multirole)
- 2 Maestrale (Multirole *ASW)
- 2 KCR 60
- 2 SSK
Koarmada 2 :
- 1 AH 140 (Multirole *AAW)
- 2 FREMM Bergamini (Multirole *ASW)
- 2 Σ 10514 (Multirole)
- 2 F2000 (Multirole)
- 2 KCR 60
- 2 SSK
Koarmada 3 :
- 2 FREMM Bergamini (Multirole *ASW)
- 4 Σ9013 corvette (multirole)
- 2 modernized Fatahillah FF
- 2KCR 60
- 2 SSK
Each fleet will be able to defend itself using its own existing asset if need be, nowadays not all fleet enjoy the same capability, most of the navy best units are in the 2nd fleet Surabaya and the other 2 fleet will be dependent on fleet escort from the 2nd fleet asset.
And if the situation necessitate jointness, all 3 fleets could be merged into a single fleet command (KOARMADA RI)
but that's just personal opinion.
