Submarines are already have biggest outdated systems. With new smaller and technological subsystem gives a more technical advance, more wide and good looking area for submariners.

"The bids for the 6th, 7th and 8th MİLGEM frigates to be produced have been received. The evaluation process continues. It is on the agenda that 3 ships will be launched and commissioned in the same year, within 18 months."

Still no news about ASW Helicopters for Anadolu nor any Helicopters for the four Istif-Class frigates. Unless they want to use the outdated AB-212.

MH-60R is a no go and will be vetoed, what are the alternatives?
Only logical option until TAI is able to do or secures a ToT, is Seahawk (considering TAI and others would provide upgrade solutions as time passes, for the older helicopters) and we should lobby for those as much as we are lobbying for the F-16s and the upgrade kits.

Then other 'possible' options for I-Class would be;
NFH-90
Korean Airspace Industries Surion variants

For Anadolu;
AW101

However both has major European (France, Germany, Italy) input and not likely to be delivered.

I think we could aquire some AgustaWestland AW159 HMA2 Wildcat without any problems.

6 months apart, means the winner of the bid could be a single shipyard (or favored in such way).
30 months per ship settles us with 42 months. +3 month delay just-in-case, 45 months for 3 ships is a good schedule.

I think we could aquire some AgustaWestland AW159 HMA2 Wildcat without any problems.

I was rather offering options in ~10 tons MTOW.
AW159 is rather smaller. Could be food for AKDG for light duties.

Has the Seahawk been updated in any form? I'm gonna guess it will pale in comparison to the MH-60R. But what other choice do we have. T-925 is years away and a ASW version even longer.

How could a CIWS intercept Anti-ship missiles if there is no radar coverage?




IMHO There should be 2 additional compact AESA radar plates in order to CIWS work properly. Remember it is CIWS not SHORAD.





At least Phalanx could be replaced in front and Gökdeniz at rear. This position would give more situational awareness.

MH-60 is the upgraded Seahawks, old Seahawks are S-70B.
And yes they inherit structural differences but I believe the manufacturer provides some kits for the upgrades and modifications.
Could we independently upgrade Seahawks with local and more advanced systems than what is installed? I am not sure, we will need approval and stuff. Another option is going with European systems or Koreans but that will be tied to few manufacturers who is experienced in Naval grade helicopter manufacturers. Even for T-925 and so on TAI is going to need some input for the navalization.

Smart-S can also detect threats and pass that on the tracking radar of the Gökdeniz.
Also in recent images / mock-ups of Barbaros MLU, Gökdeniz was seen with a Mar-D however it is still unclear to me if Barbaros is getting Gökdeniz with Mar-D.

AH-1Ws are navalized from birth, and they have got 2 pals which doesn't require folding. I would at least expect those helis to undergo an upgrade with some Turkish sensors and EW protection but i doubt if Navy wants to settle with them for a long term.
Its anti-corrosion paint, anti-corrosion coating / prepped engine parts, catch-hook bottom the belly, extra strengthened structure for crash landings, floatability etc.

Actually @xenon54 might know better about metal protection.

The hardest part of the navalization is the navalization of the engine. I doubt TS-1400 is designed with naval use in mind. CTS800 has a naval variant CTS800-4N . Engine of ATAK-II, TV3-117VMA-SBM1V, was also chosen with the navalization needs in mind. Foldable pals, corrosion and humidity resistance, and landing gears are other major points that need improvement.

The German Empire, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman State lost WO I because they had no navy.

We must build a large Navy, so big that it should be partioned in 3 parts;

- The Turkish Black Sea Fleet
- The Turkish Aegean Fleet
- The Turkish Mediterranean Fleet

FULLY AGREE! we are surrounded by 3 seas but we only have 1 navy. thats bad.
we must triple the navy we have, and submarines should make the bulk of that fleet.
(given the circumstances of Moskva's sinking, surface fleets might be a little out of fashion in todays warfare.)
69 subs oughtta do it.
