Turkiye cant go around saving Muslims worldwide.

Pan Islamism failed just like any other pan movement because its filled with delusions without taking any reality.

An pan islamist empire led by Turks wont work because pan islamist Arabs and Persians believe they have to rule. I doubt all the ethnic groups and minorities from morocco to indonesia are willing to give up land and their independance to be subordinate to a ethnic group which they have no ties except religion.

Ottoman Empire had to conquer its way every other Islamic empire was the same because even Muslims did not accept their rule.

Ummah is just a useful political tool just like Pan Slavism. Its just every other tool being used to further interests.

Erdogan and akp lack pragmatism because they mix it with humanatarianism bs even to the point where they cut relations.

Because by then israel realized it punched over its weight so they did back down. But, turkey kept pushing israel. I mean, the intention was good! Solidarity with Palestinian and it also gave turkey and good image in islamic world specially when arab nations were licking israel's boot. However, It was too much and over its weight that turkey can not handle or sustain.

But turkey kept doing it anyway. And in reality neither did this policy actually helped Palestinians nor turkish broader foreign policy objective for that matter. And now this kind of U-turn not just creates credibility problem for Mr. Erdogan but also hurt the image that turkey had. Instead, if turkey kept the good diplomatic relationship with Israel it would have somewhat better leverage with Israel and probably were batter able push israel for an actual peace with Palestine. And also, it wouldn't antagonize the Americans at the level that we saw later on.

Last but not the least it, shouldn't be forgotten that israel support greece against turkey anyway. And israel is a real threat to turkish interest in the region. I suspect, some people foolishly think israel can be turkish genuine friend! But this is just a dumb idea detached form long term reality.

Mavi marmara could have been avoided if they took proper security measures.

Also why take women and children inside when the Israelis made it clear they were going to attack even in international waters.

Also it was a spectacle when there was better ways in helping even smarter ways instead of this showing off.

Either way it bolstered Erdogans image and votes at the time. While the Israelis made themselves look bad again where they copped it but in the long term it was neglible.

if Turkiye done the same thing it would have been talked about for decades.

It is so sad we are now hoping for Gripen. We are begging to America for F16. It is sad that in the last 100 years nothing has been done about these things. And those production facilities built in 1930s and 1950s have been closed. Our fathers and grandfathers did not do a good job. They left us trash regarding technological capacity. Most of them are not worthy of any esteem except few including Atatürk.

Where you have been last 10 years?

From year 2011-12 americans START playing HARDCORE long term dirty games for ALMOST 90% of all military platforms which Turkiye ask to buy. It is not only F-16
It is ignorance related to NON stop lobby propaganda.
It is anger- usa want from Turkiye to obey but will not happened
It is hate when Turkiye build own or buy military platform form others
Now usa must face the Reality -> Listen what Turkiye SAY and accept or just do as it was and be with losers living in Ignorant and Fake reality

Yeah but it’s a completely different story. In your case Australia deliberately cut the contract they had with France, so naturally they will have to compensate France for this. In the F-35 case Turkiye was kicked out because officially they bought the S-400 system, by this logic it is Turkiye's fault.

But then again we don’t know the actual terms of the contract between LM and Turkiye. In my opinion It will be a long and painful battle between lawyers to resolve this case.
