We were in a similar situation with LM in TAI now we are better off without them.
Same thing can happen with GE. We can still do their work if they still want but they will not have any say in what we are doing, anyway.
They have no saying in tei!! They have less than 50 percent share. Having ge is a bonus for us!! Beside two, they have an engineering office in Türkiye aswell!!

Klimov Russian 423cm long 104cm in diameter 1055kg
EJ200 UK 398cm long 73.5cm in diameter 988kg
F404 US. 391cm long. 89cm in diameter 1035kg

f404 being the least powerful one they will all fly the Hurjet.
How much alteration the plane needs and how long time it will cost is another question. But it can be done.
Easiest one is EJ200. But since a good deal of parts come from Germany and they have a design input, it wouldn’t be very prudent to go with that engine unless the British side gives us Cast Iron guarantees. However, we can do a “T700TEI701D“ on this engine with the British, and produce a redesigned version under license from RR with most parts coming from UK and some being produced in house to start with. Then gradually increasing local input percentage.

Since the initial prototypes of Eurofighter first flew with a UK built Tornado engine, these engines can be considered too for the Hurjet prototypes.
Also the XG40 engine, from which EJ200 was derived, was designed and built by RR with 85% Uk government finance and the rest being met by RR. That should enable RR to be able to tweak EJ200 enough to make it “TJ200-TR201A”

To me it sounds unlikely that the F404 is sanctioned, reason the F404 design is more than 30 years old and that means it doesn't have any property rights anymore.

Everyone who can is free to reverse engineer that engine, same like we reverse engineered the Italian 76mm gun and are reverse engineering the 127mm gun.

Can they sanction it? Yes of course they can but seen how Turkiye is reverse engineering everything that is sanctioned it is IMO unlikely and calling for their product to be reverse engineered

I asked again just to be sure. It has become clear that an embargo has been placed on Hürjet prototypes.
Hahaha wtf man! that is very unfriendly action after design completed. It's a fcking trainer! not a ballistic missile... god.. Fck US buy EF2000 and engines. I hope this is just a rumor otherwise things will get worse

There was news about engines already delivered like this. How come they are embargoed if they already delivered engines?

The giving approval for the delivery of F110 without any problem while embargo on less powerful F404 is completely illogical and contrary to reality. It is unrealistic news or gossip for me that authority that doesn't impose an embargo on the engine of a promising stealth fighter aircraft imposes an embargo on the engine of a training aircraft prototypes.

Therefore, what needs to be done is not to take some misunderstandings or gossips seriously, except for official statements. If such a situation occurs, this issue will already be spoken by most authorized mouths, then we will talk about alternative courses. I think this is not the case at the moment.

@Bogeyman ,
I would like to ask a simple question about the news of a possible embargo on F404 engines you brought up last night;

We read in the news about the prototype engines having been delivered during the course of last few months.

Were these news false?

Same kind of info is also mentioned here as the receipt of F110 engines

Already two friends are working at TAI. But the friend who gives information about the latest situation takes part in the project himself.

Frankly, I can't think of a more reliable source than an engineer who personally took part in the project. By the way, the fact that the official authorities do not talk about this issue may be to prevent a new crisis between the USA and Turkey. Negotiations for the sale of F-16s will become more difficult in a crisis environment.

I don't know how but my friends who works in TAI are telling otherwise but in depth, yet i prefer not to leak it in here for sake of clarity. Maybe it is not for best to mention further about this rumor until it is assured. There is another dimension of these rumors that i think it is not directly related to Hurjet, or actually not a formal sanction but something else i prefer not to unfold at this moment. Fınally, to my knowledge engines of the prototypes are delivered with the spares and the orders made for serial production are also on the queue.

I wonder if we will have problems with serially producing Hürjet.

Or getting some more F110s for the first batch as the national engine will be integrated and will start it's testing phase, (let's say no delay and test schedule of 2 years) will be ready for used in serially produced aircraft by 2030s, this means 2 years of delay on project

I also remember telling some of you this :D

There aren't 4 prototypes on the assembly line. The number is two. One is easily noticeable as being a ground test aircraft, with different structural parts visible.
