Singapore already stretching their funding level, more defense budget means less pension and welfare budget, means less stability for their society. Indonesia otherwise only spent very little, less than 0,8 from total GDP, and less than 1/19 from total expenditure of central government budget. There is lot of room for play for Indonesia.

For comparison, in Napoleon's time, 70% of the government budget went to the military.

Even though we have a legacy of 'military dictatorship', Indonesia was never really a militarized country (a clear example is North Korea in modern times). Indonesia is more of a 'bureaucratic state' than 'militaristic state' because ABRI officers back then and even now, serve in the capacity of bureaucratic officials rather than as warfighters. That is why we see more generals in the ministries and enterprises, rather than on the battlefield.

As i said let them be, they're facing disastrous developments domestically, unmaterialised plan on getting older F-18 series, no further developments on plan getting LCA, nothing new from SPH procurement, and the top of that, the scandalous Boustead Naval Shipyard, Gowind / Maharajalela Class was ordered in 2011 but until after more than 10 years not one launched yet despite the fund already almost 70% injected to the Shipyard thus when they see our developments, it is expected reactionary feedback as for Singapore, they've always been cautious about their neighbours developments however as i said each respective Governments don't contradict us, even Singaporean Defence Minister as i recalled was present during opening ceremony of Indodefence 2022.

Singaporean Defence Minister as i recalled was present during opening ceremony of Indodefence 2022.

Singapore is smart they know what is better for them, even there is a very low chance of conflict between ID-SG from what I see they still try to align their national interest with ours.

IIRC some problems between ID-SG also show some positive development, negotiations of the maritime borders is almost finished, the previous agreement that will allow SG to use our sea for military exercise already expired and caused some ripples previously but the new agreement have been reached, FIR issue also almost sorted out.

Though i don't think buy and buy from aboard would be solution for long term. At least Indonesia should also license production turbofan engine, diesel engine for marine use, gas turbin engine for marine use, and other stuff

There is also license production for barrel gun (including 105 mm tank gun, 105 mm artillery gun, 155 mm artillery gun and so on)

Deploy it near Pekanbaru so we can hit both KL and Singapore at the same time

Memang nya kita ada potensi konflik apa dengan itu Kalau kita pingin "mati in" cukup kita bangun infrastruktur khususnya pelabuhan di pesisir Selat Malaka dan benahi budaya / etos kerja kita udah mampus dengan sendiri nya . Kalau pingin mati in , kita bangun daerah Kalimantan dan jangan lupa pengaman nya (Kamtibmas) bisa pindah kegiatan perekonomian nya mereka ke kita yg pada akhirnya mereka mati sendiri

Kalau sich patokan saya yg di lapak nya Max Def, dan mereka cukup positif dengan kita kok. Kalau khan mereka masih ngerasa ras / etnis unggulan di kawasan.
