You are right about Eriksson, Nokia etc. But company of Nuri Demirağ was deliberately ruined by the government of the time. They didnt buy ordered aircrafts and they didnt give permission to export. History tells us if a defense company clashes with government anyhow, its future becomes dark. So there is real concern about slowing down Baykar. It is something we can't afford it.
YEah just look at what happened to the deals with Koc group after their beef with the government. RMK Marine given the construction of the Milgem then it's canceled. Otokar hardly got any tender.

"Now there is a Turkey that has stood up and is a cure for humanity and the oppressed! We witnessed this in #TEKNOFEST2023 as well. I would like to express my gratitude to our beloved Nation, who are always with us. See you again in Ankara and Izmir..."

I could see this guy as the future president of Turkiye.

TAKEN FROM GDH DEFENCE'S INTERVIEW WITH TAI UAV DIVISION VICE-PRESIDENT ÖMER YILDIZ

-Due to our aircraft being tailless, we were able to decrease her RCS. Of course, tailless aircraft has their challenges. Controlling an aircraft such as this is no longer considered engineering, but art. Our aircraft weighs around 7 tonnes. It flies with a turbofan engine. It's not that agile, but we are underlining her low radar cross section here. We are optimizing it.

-It's an aircraft that can take the air-to-ground roles of our F-16's. Our IWB's can carry 1.300 kilograms of weapons. We have 5 weapon stations in total. One under the fuselage, and 2 under the wings.

-Last year our board of directors approved this aircraft. Hopefully we will get to fly her in a week. If this schedule sticks, then our project timeframe would be 16 months. The reason why we are so fast can be traced to our ability to make good use of our legacy.

-It took ANKA a long time to enter the inventory, but we developed the Aksungur in 18 months. Hopefully ANKA-3 will fly in 16 months. We are currently performing her taxi tests. We've got a couple of problems. We have successfully identified these problems and we are now fixing them.

-We weren't able to work due to today's event. We will be done with them tomorrow. If nothing goes wrong, our aircraft will be ready to take to the skies within a week.

Koc is also beefing with akp.

I find this companies vs government or party so childish.

Then again we are talking about Turkiye here.

They cant put aside their differences just for fcking once only for their childish petty politics.

It would be an honor and privilege to see them surpassing me and their teachers (some of them already does) and I have no doubt they will to do so. In a sense they have to. Having said that, they must learn the history of their field of study in order to avoid the same mistakes. For all we must. There are some legitimate concerns about our defense industry because bad things happened in the past, it may very well happen in the future. But if you take this as stucking in the past and call the parrot (which is not kind at the very least) who pointing out these warnings, I will say no more and end this conversation here

History is not limited to the period between 1923 and 1950. There is a clear ulterior motive, those who normally do not even know about these people are now claiming them and trying to hit the republic through their victimization or their personalities. Most of the institutions, organizations and factories opened have been sold or closed down today. The main developments in every field occurred especially after 1960. The establishment of Tusaş, Aselsan, Roketsan, etc.?

What were we doing before 1920? Let's also tell everyone that the Ottoman Empire did not allow printing in its territory until 1727 and missed the industrial revolution. Because it is not told in history books and TV series. Let people not think that we are always flying, exuberant, and soaring, let them take lessons from history. Let them understand how an empire collapsed.

Look, we're parroting right now. An empty and shitty conversation that's going nowhere, trying to prove something...how is it, is it good, do you enjoy it?

That's what retarded politicians want. People wallowing in a spiral of hatred, resentment, dwelling on the past, settling scores. Politicians must be laughing their asses off.😑😒

Institutional statement about former TAI engineer who wrote about UAVs and Baykar on Linkedin

"Some of the statements made on social media by our ex-employee whose employment contract has been terminated are untrue statements intended to damage our commercial reputation and affect the current judicial process."

"A criminal complaint was filed against this person within the scope of the crime of "providing information regarding the security of the state" and the person mentioned was sentenced to prison as a result of the first-degree trial. This is already in open sources."

"Due to the ongoing proceedings, our Company cannot make a more detailed statement in line with our respect for the judiciary, our belief and our legal obligations."

We don't want another rhetoric guy, we heard all the same things from erdogan and today we have terrible economy, maybe 13 million illegals with millions more to come, an insanely polarised nation, a media under AK party shackles, the elevation of all terrorist and separatist entities within Turkiye, just look at HDP/PKK. We could go on and on.

Honestly we need something different and last thing Turkiye needs is a bait and switch, where erdogan goes out and his son in law comes in.

Now if he started to talk about the economy and things that matter, then by all means run for it. But all this nonsense about standing for the oppressed blah blah blah is just populist statements that in practice means Turkiye bends over and takes it. Under his father in law the common citizen of Turkiye struggles to buy basic groceries.

Just yesterday that same Turkiye was siding with FETO to round up nationalists, patriots, anyone who would be for Turkiye and against american/european regional games. All a lie where AK party and FETO worked side by side to undermine and threaten the very existence of Turkiye.

All of this madness and bullshits are about to end.12 days left. There is a proverb "One trouble is better than a thousand advice".Unfortunately for many of us It was impossible to understand this without our life being turned upside down. But we learned how wrong it is to politicize religious belief so much as a society. We learned how important secularism, rationality and logic are.I hope such nonsense will never happen again in Turkish history.

Nobody pays attention to the conditions of that period. We had bigger priorities.Building a sustainable defense industry is not just an engineering job.You need to create educational institutions, support defence industry with universities and human resources. You need financial resources. You need to have a certain industrial infrastructure. All of these are ignored.

Printing press was allowed but not for Arabic.

Ottomans misses out on the industrial revolution because they did not have the conditions for it.

Colonialism which they did not do, did not have a capitalist society plus they did not discover huge deposits of coal.

Plus the Ottomans were multicultural and multi ethnic all the ethnic groups were competing for power and influence in a traditional society.

Japan's key to success that it was not a multiethnic society which meant the people there were only Japanese.

Emperor Meiji tore down the old Japanese order which was feudal and run by the samurais.

Ottomans never came close to taring down the old order because its been in place for centuries.

When they started implementing industrialisation or modernisation. Muslims, Jewish and Christian subjects all revolted because they will be losing their special privledges.

People think its religion but I believe its more than that really.

Even with the printing press most of the world was still illterate.

Literacy rates only started to grow in the 1800s because education was always something only the aristocrats, privledge class or the merchant class can afford.
