Can't wait to see other configurations and get more information about this. They might not become the main fighting force of an army for some time, but I think UGVs will become really important support elements and it'll happen pretty soon, just as it happened with UAVs.
Alpar Battery Pack
- Developed by Otokar
- Li-Ion NMC type (nickel manganese cobalt)
- Weight 480kg per pack
- Compatible with MIL-STD-810 track vibration profile
- Capacity 69kW
- Up to 4 packs (276kW total) can be installed depending on requirements.
I think they'll be indispensable in urban conditions with smaller drones and UGVs integrated into a command system at company level. They'll do what Kirpi's did during Hendek operations, but without putting blue forces in danger. Ironically, they will probably have much greater situational awarenes with the configuration I'm talking about than manned platforms of today. Can't wait to see other configurations and get more information about this. Oh they definitely will, think about having a system like Aselsan's Örümcek (Spider) for tanks, integrated into UGV's (both light and heavy imo), supported by recon UAV's like STM's Togan, and maybe even accompanied by kamikaze drones like (again) STM's Kargu or drones that carry Mete missiles or mortar rounds (STM's Boyga).Ironically, they will probably have much greater situational awarenes with the configuration I'm talking about than manned platforms of today.
I think they will better serve as scouts or the tip of the spear during military attack. Can't wait to see other configurations and get more information about this. That's a stretch I think. Someone will need to kick down doors and clean rooms if we care about civilian casualities. We can more or less fight an entire urban battle without putting our soldiers within kilometers of the actual fight.

Hopefully those guys will be armored to the teeth with powered exoskeleton armor etc.

My favorite part is the sideview mirrors, so long as they keep them just the same way, as if its a dump truck, I'm happy.

I love that we can finally have a vehicle with 35mm domestic turret on it
Heavy ASCOD vibes from the frontend, I do like it.
Unfortunately, we won't see this baby in the inventory.
I don't understand, why Turkish army don't want it if they are going with tracked solution for their future manned IFVs.
Besides, wasn't it designed by the same team that was behind Altay development?
YN-ZMA program does supposedly consist of both tracked and wheeled components. Still waiting for a slimmer of official info tho. What I read few years ago* hinted at wheeled vehicles being the priority and from ACV IFVs being modernized, we can surmise that has not yet changed.I don't understand, why Turkish army don't want it if they are going with tracked solution for their future manned IFVs.

Found it. Per Defence Turk in 2021, First batch will include 362 vehicles, 8x8 IFVs and ARVs and 6x6 command versions.

As per Tulpar winning the tender or not, we'll see.
I don't think it's a matter of prioritisation but rather due to the fact that the tracked vehicle needs to operate with the Altay, so it needs to have at least as high a top speed, be procured in similar numbers, etc. IMO once Altay production starts, the tracked IFV vehicle tender will be awarded. It is Interesting if for now Turkish military prioritize 8x8 Wheeled IFVs over tracked ones.
While there is no doubt trakced IFV's provide better balsitic protection compared to Wheeled ones, however, as Ukraine conflict is showing direct IFV to IFV battle is rare occurring. And somewhat surprisingly, most of the time just a mine or even a close artillery hit quickly putting these tracked vehicles out of commission by knocking out their tracks. (even if the soldiers are inside remain safe)
On the other hand, 8x8 Wheeled IFV's can still remain mobile after taking significant hits.

While providing the same firepower as their tracked counterparts.
Last bit not the least, modern heavy designs like 38t Boxer or 40t ARMA ii seems to be closing the gap with tracked vehicles when it comes to balsitic protection.
And even the current ARMA I has quite thick composite armor.

I am no armor expert, shouldn't these blocks be able to provides STANAG 4569 level 6 protection or at least level 5?
The best solution right now.
