4 AESA radars, a tracking radar, EO, 2 different missiles, 35mm gun with ATOM. This big boy might be the most comprehensive anti drone/cruise missile system ever.

It will be very expensive for sure and I don't see us buying this anytime soon. Saudis however would love it for their oil facilities.

We could use a few for our critical facilities and certain difficult locations I imagine

We of course could. But air defence is very expensive. As we literally have no idea how much the components cost each, we couldn't assume a unit price for Gürz. I'd think each of those Aselsan AESA radars come at least 1-3 million per unit. This will be an expensive piece of equipment.

If the army and MoD followed Ukraine War closely, they must know that good, modern, layered air defense is critical. But the cost is the silver bullet here. We are woefully unprepared for precision strikes against our critical infrastructure.

Aselsan's air defense systems proliferated recently. If my understanding is correct,

Gürz: Low altitude defense with 35 mm cannon, Sungur, Bozdogan

Gökdemir: Medium altitude defense with Gökdogan, works complementary to existing Hisar

Gökberk: Laser weapon for short range defense

Göksur: Searam equivalent

Idef-23 is a declaration to the world that we have gained air defense capability in all layers, except BMD, and there are only a few countries that have this capability independently, on this wide scale. The 10 years of dedication and effort in this area is one of the issues that raises our hopes for our work in other areas.

I'll be the first to say this when we have these in service in needed numbers, not before though.

How important a layerad airdefence program is, west is wasting billions of dollar equipments in Ukrain...

Thats not a NASAMS. But a SPADA system from spain.

Göksur naval point defence missile system

Now I am interested if the Navy will have this baby added to TCG Anadolu. We know that the plan was 2x Phalanx and 1-2x RAM for TCG Anadolu but due to sanctions only Phalanx was sold to us.

Also right now it seems Aselsan/Tübitak is winning the race for a RAM replacement. Unless of course Roketsan intends to show something off too :)

But in more likelihood Levent will be resevered for smaller ships while Göksur will see use on bigger ships such as LHD,Destroyer,AC,LST imo.

I'll be the first to say this when we have these in service in needed numbers, not before though.

Each mechanized/armor company would need one 1x system.
That means 9x system per brigade.

TKK has around 22 armored/mechanized brigades. (According to wiki count)

That is means 198x systems
for armored/mechanized formation only.

And then There are motorized elements of the army.

Let's say, here 1x system per battalion.

Probbaly each GURZ will cost around $17-20 millions.

I guess, realistically they will porbbaly equipped 1/2 divisions with such capability for now.

When it comes to missile, it won't. (Even though Turkish missiles are cost effective compared to Werstern ones)

However, cold war era concept of AAA gun once again making a comeback (and rightfully so) due to the proliferation of cheap and easily mass produced kamikaze drones.

In a nutshell, this is how armies around the world are planning to fight against cheap kamikaze drones.

But also, these system has dual use.
For example, nowadays artillery and mortars are becoming incredibly accurate due to implementation precision guidance kit and automatic fire control system.
(And we all saw how heavy armor and mechanized vehicle has been hammered by accurate artillery fire on both sides in Russia-Ukraine conflict)

And These highly responsive automated AAA guns could potentially shoot down mortars and artillery rounds in a cost effective manner.

This is just the interim, next gen solution will be found in directed microwave anti drone swarms weapons.

Good that we catch up fast :)
Finally, ASELSAN's microwave weapon with HPM antenna has shown itself.

Developed for IED threats, this vehicle can also find a role as an anti-drone vehicle

Yes you right but still there is no mass production of those weapons .
Whats if total war starts tomorow??
All those systems are for show for now and this make me very angry and upset .
Cant Tu4kiye order 200-400 systems mass production of those Gürz , Siper etc?
