Dear members,
It has come to notice that the number of Initialisms that are used in the forum are somehow a sore point for some “aged” , young and amateur members.
Therefore we are suggesting that :

We advise all members that, it is better to put the expanded version of the initialisms, on the basis that not everyone can immediately recognise it. Therefore as an educational tool and conveying the true meaning of the article in a positive way, to expand it at least once in a conversation.

If we take our @Siper>MMU ’s last post in TFX KAAN thread there were two initialisms there:

DAS :
Direct Attached Storage
Department of Additional Support
Division of Administrative Services
Distributed Antenna System
Debt Arrangemen Scheme

Defensive Aid Suite

MWS :
Master Warning System
Major Weapon System
Milliwatts
Million Wells Scheme
Modular Weapon System
Managed Windows Service
Marine Warranty Surveys

Missile Warning System

These are what I found after a quick search. Yet the true meaning of DAS was still not there.

And if I may humbly suggest with your permission @Yasar that when our valuable members who are computer savvy/expert digital image enhancers (and they do amazing job) create a post of digitally altered image of any HW (hardware), be it an existing ship or be it a missile system, could they kindly state that mentioned image is an digitally altered/improved version of the original product.

The main reason behind this suggestion is that this forum is not exclusively frequented by our valuable members but also a lot of guests. It’s only natural for anyone who is not familiar with any given weapon system to take it as the actual product.

On top of this, i believe and suggest that these posts shouldn't be in the threads directly related to a programme (unless otherwise it is providing a greater depth to convey concept of the platform or system via visually improving, converting into 3D images that may allow users to interprete it), but in a separate thread. If it is a conceptual work, it should be placed in appropiate concepts thread.

In the first days of the forum i have launched these two threads to serve the purpose for land and sea domains (assuming it does not serve only for vehicles or platforms but any item maybe be related to it). We may either collect these under a section, or create threads for remaining fields (weapons, air domain etc.) within related sub-sections in general military section.
