so what's keeping us from building 8 of these and having 1-2 go through certification process etc. while we test flight the begesus of the remaining 6, stress test, and try to reach at least 1000+ flight hours on them, if we're confident enough that they'll pass the process.

Certification programs EASA or not, take time. Also there may be some technical difficulties, these processes are perfectly normal. What is not normal is the created expectations about T625 entering services as soon as it flies.
T625 first flew in 2018. We didn't create the expectations, they were claimed by the company GM at the time.

This aircraft was to be delivered to gendarme in Q1 2023, which was already a delayed date, because first 3 T625s were to be delivered to gendarme in 2022. Going even further, originally first delivery was to be made in Q4 2021, which was later updated to 1 T625 by H2 2022, which was later revised to first delivery in Q1 2023, then revised to Q4 2023, and we currently do not have any dates.

"The first batch of 3 helicopters is expected to be delivered in 2022. The delivery date for the T625 GÖKBEY was previously planned as October 29, 2021, which was later updated as 'mid-2022'."

"Kotil announced that they will deliver the first GÖKBEY helicopter to the Gendarmerie General Command towards the end of 2022."

J-6001, first production T625 Gökbey for Gendarme is in Güvercinlik joint base, presumably for more trials and/or certification tests. J-6001 was rolled off in 2022 and is still not officially delivered to JnGK.

Seems this was from last year when it visited there and not recent. Sad, we are passing another claimed delivery date, which was August 2024 for 2 T625s.

I'm beginning to wish we had a different company focused solely on helicopters and related systems.

We are told Gökbey will be accepted on Agust but they only make just a show flight.Hürkuş also making show flight for 10 years.Aselsan ceo says about electro-optics of Gökbey,is there anyone who see it.If land forces intented to get Gökbey we can pass civil certification and go for military certification and it would be Quicker although its limits higher than civil ones.There is no intention of Gökbey Land,sea,air forces,they are using AB-212,AB-205,and all of them wants T70.How can we sell Gökbey to military forces of another country?.We will lost many oppurtunities to Leonardo.Is lynx helicopter of UK navy,better than our Gökbey,no they are same class.

Its part of Ministry of interior in peace time , In war time its part of defence , i read about it and i know while police black hawks are black why Jandarma one are like clowns agency for enterteiments ?!
I hope they repaint them

"According to the information I have received, the acceptance of the first three serial production T625J GÖKBEY Helicopters has not been completed in time for August 30, as the ongoing Military Certification activities of GÖKBEY Helicopters have not yet been completed. However, pilots participating in the tests are very satisfied with GÖKBEY's performance. More than 95% of the Military Certification activities have been completed, and a significant part of the pilot training has been left behind, except for flying under night conditions. The official acceptance of the first 3 T625J GÖKBEY Light Utility Helicopters, which are produced in Military Configuration for the Gendarmerie Aviation Command and defined as Early Entry Helicopters (EDH), is targeted to be completed in the last quarter of 2024 (if there is no setback, the acceptance ceremony is expected to be held on October 29, 2024).

The video clearly shows the helicopters' military-style 10-passenger seat configuration (similar to the Sikorsky S-70/T-70). In addition, the necessary cabling equipment and provisions for the Missile Warning System (MWS) sensors, Counter Measure Launch System (CMDS) lancers, search light and rescue crane to be installed on the helicopters in the future have also been prepared. Some of the T625J GÖKBEY Helicopters with full autopilot capability will also be equipped with the ASELFLIR-R400D FLIR System.

The first 3 T625J Helicopters are powered by the LHTEC CTS800-4AT Turboshaft Engine, while the other 17 T625 Helicopters are planned to be powered by the TEI-TS1400 Turboshaft Engine. However, the qualification schedule for the TEI-TS1400 has not yet been finalized. If qualified, it will be used in 17 helicopters; if not, the LHTEC CTS800-4AT Turboshaft Engines previously supplied by TAI will continue to be used.

According to the information I have received, over 1,000 hours have been flown during the flight test campaign, and over 100 hours have been flown with the J6001 alone. In this context, the J6001 was also subjected to 'snow tests' in Erzurum last March.


EDH enters back into our lexicon, which was probably the smart way of doing things. Resetting the clock for end of 2024 for delivery.
