Holup

We don't make our own barrels?!

what in tarnation

We Made it recently, but not so for especially special purpose firearms (like sniper rifle barrel) there is thing still need being imported. And as i said before, there is mainly imported from Krauts , Juice and Rosbif. Well although they apparently had imported from Kimchi very briefly but soon they switch back to Rosbif or Juice again in the end.

WOW

I'm genuinely disappointed that we still need to import barrels. A gun without a barrel is not a gun at all.

What else is imported on the SS2? Gas tube? Spring? Do we make magazines in house?

Indonesia policymaker : Paper is white..... eeech white and paper what...??? What is white paper? All paper is white right...?

LOL.

Those FX reserve is also based on loan. But don't tell that to any Indonesian, they most likely won't understand such things anyway.

Well yeah, USD or any foreign currency is not legal tender within Indonesia. Thus it held even when given as capital account (loans, investments, bonds etc) and the equivalent in rupiah is converted inside for actual use.

Hence why generally the forex reserves is held by central bank given it is tied to issuing authority of the local country's currency...and scale wise largely dependent on things like the country's credit rating.

Huge amount of Indian forex reserves are what are known as "NRI Bonds" for example....given current account is generally in deficit (so can't accumulate forex that way).

Most people don't understand or know the basic process....or even what capital account is (current account is much more visible/touchable etc).

Indonesia policymaker : Yes there are planning (plural) for comparative studies abroad (read : vacation). And there are also planning for how to spend the budget and to request for more budget in next fiscal year.

:ROFLMAO:

@Joe Shearer will appreciate your frank take on things.

Seems our bureaucracies are not all that different in the end.

These are mainly Pindad problem, not Komodo Armament problem. But hey, BUMN first, right?

It's all come from a transparency ... nobody mention it in the past because " black avanza " was the real deal in the past . Here come the new era and admministration so do come the new hopes and challenges and they are trying hard to come clean for it . It's just i'm allready get apathetic to the SOE these days .
When it comes to the gun barrells unless we starting to invest heavily for a new specialized foundry and smithing complexs that problems won't be solved soon . And make no mistakes that complexs ain't cheap and easy....
That is why i always asking when we are going to licensing a howitzer systems that because it will push us into a heavy metal treatment imdustry .... And we are still heavily importing such a specialized steel conponent for our civillian sectors

Ahaa... so they keep pushing F16v but added F15 or F18sh to the mix. I see...

Well, 36 F16v and 12-16 F15 advance, how about that?
Nope, MoD is not interested anymore in (4th gen) single engine fighter, that's why US pushing for double engine fighter right now.

Currently, the top list on MoD eyes is Rafale. Sigh, If only US agreed on selling f35 to us

And how would TNI-AU will be able to operate such advance jet without prior experience in operating the lesser advance jet such as Super Bug block 3 or Viper?

After Jan 20th Bu Sri and Bu Retno need to have a woman-to-woman conversation with Mbak Evie Kamala regarding F-35.

We should stop getting Israeli stuff that are generic (small arms, imported designs), you cannot rely on covert operations for big acquisition, limit it at small scale only
Who say we bought from israeli.. after a5 we never buy from israeli anymore.. we bought from phil, sing, even from caribean
