Algeria allocates $8 billion to develop railways.

The National Railway Transport Company of Algeria has launched a broad program to purchase railway transport equipment of various types, including high-capacity locomotives, passenger cars, self-propelled trains, high-speed self-propelled trains, freight cars, and maneuvering locomotives. The company's Director of Management and Contributions Control, Sofiane Aibesh, revealed in an interview with Algerian Radio that 378 billion Algerian dinars (3 billion dollars) have been allocated for the purchase process, confirming the authorities' approval to finance it.

On the other hand, the company is currently implementing another program to rehabilitate, maintain and renew its facilities and lines at a cost exceeding 41 billion Algerian dinars ($300 million). The National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investments (ANSRIF) in Algeria put more than 700 kilometers of railway into service during 2023. The (ANSRIF) official as saying that the railway infrastructure development program has witnessed a "strong boost" since 2020, with the provision of the necessary financial appropriations, which allowed the network to be increased to 4,722 kilometers, and is expected to reach 6,500 kilometers upon completion of the program currently being implemented, and 15,000 kilometers by 2030.

Regarding the major lines, the same source explained that "ANSRIF" is working to extend the railway lines to the far south, via 5 tracks, the most prominent of which is the first track extending between the capital and the Niger border over a distance of 2439 kilometers, while the second connects Oran to the Mali border over a distance of 2480 kilometers, in addition to the fourth track connecting the port of Djengen (Jijel) and the Algerian-Libyan border over a distance of 2275 kilometers.

The former Algerian Minister of Transport, Amar Tou, explained that the Algerian railway network jumped from nearly 1,800 kilometers in 2008 to 5,000 kilometers currently, with its expansion continuing in all regions of the country, with the aim of completing the target of 15,000 kilometers by 2030, to be the longest railway network in Arab world.

Data published by the American CIA website showed that Libya is the country with the lowest death rate in Africa in 2024, as according to the website, 3.5 deaths occurred per 1,000 people, followed by Egypt in Africa with 4.3 deaths per 1,000 people, then Algeria in third place with 4.4 deaths per 1,000 people, while Morocco has a high death rate of 6.6 deaths per 1,000 people, which reflects the weakness of the health care system and the high rates of malnutrition in this North African country.

We suggest the highest and lowest death rates in African countries for the year 2024

Wouldn't it be better to share news of investments and improvements than to listen to what CIA says about Algeria/Africa ?

This report is completely linked to the human development indicators, crime rate, strength of the health care system and level of nutrition in the two countries, which are also indicators linked to the economic status of the two countries....These indicators are always in favor of Algeria, notably the economic situation of the two countries. And as long as the two countries are in eternal conflict, it is better to highlight all the strengths and weaknesses that distinguish them.

I disagree with that POV. Everyone thought Assad wouldn't fall like that in december, but that's because everything was overestimating him.

Now everyone says Türkiye is the country that will determine the future of Syria, but I disagree, unless you keep improving, and moving and making sure you get better cards in your hands every day, your winning hand will become hollow and you'll become a laughing stock to the world.

You seem satisfied with being better than Morocco according to CIA statistics, I think that's wrong way to look at things because it means you become complacant.

We are better than Morocco. These are facts and numbers, not a CIA report....and Algeria is not Syria to be compared to it, and not even the nature of the conflict in the Middle East is similar to the nature of the Algerian-Moroccan conflict.

Turkish companies double their investments in various Algerian infrastructure sectors and here is a sample of infrastructure projects implemented by Turkish companies.

1 - Hassi Delaa and Guerrara Solar Power Plant Project by turkish Özgün İnşaat

Özgün İnşaat has made a significant breakthrough in the renewable energy sector by undertaking two major solar energy plant projects to support Algeria's energy transformation.
As part of the renewable energy program initiated by the Algerian State Company, Sonelgaz, Özgün İnşaat is constructing the 362 MWp capacity Hassi Delaa Solar Power Plant in Laghouat province and the 82 MWp capacity Guerrara Solar Power Plant in Ghardaia province. These projects will significantly contribute to Algeria's strategic goals of enhancing energy independence and ensuring environmental sustainability.
The projects are integral to a comprehensive program led by Sonelgaz Group, aiming to boost energy independence, promote environmental sustainability, and support economic development in Algeria. Özgün İnşaat has been entrusted with critical tasks, including the integration of facilities and the electrical transmission system.
These projects highlight Özgün İnşaat’s commitment to innovative engineering solutions and sustainability, reinforcing its mission to represent Turkey on the global stage.

Chinese solar solutions company LONGi has entered into a strategic partnership with Turkish construction company Özgün İnşaat to supply its Hi-MO 7 high-efficiency modules for the 300 MW AC/362 MW Hassi Delâa photovoltaic (PV) project in Algeria. This project, awarded under a 3 GW national tender program in Algeria and managed by state-owned Sonelgaz, represents a significant milestone in the country's transition to renewable energy.

Özgün İnşaat, a leading company within the KRK Holding Group, has also selected LONGi as its technology partner based on its proven performance and financial viability. The project will use LONGi's Hi-MO 7 series LR8-66HGD modules, rated at 625W each, optimized for high-output performance in Algeria's climate. The bifacial modules boast an efficiency of 23.1% and industry-leading temperature coefficients (-0.280%/°C), ensuring their reliability in harsh operating environments, according to the specialized platform PV TECH.

Important Collaboration Özge Baqi, General Manager of KRK Holding Energy Companies, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. She said, "The experience we have gained in solar projects, both as investors and engineering and construction contractors, combined with our more than 20 years of experience in Algeria, enabled us to win the Hassi Dela Laghouat solar photovoltaic project under the Sonelgaz tender." She added, "We are very pleased to have signed the solar photovoltaic module supply agreement with LONGi." The global leader in this field is known for the quality of its products and outstanding performance.

We would like to thank LONGi Solar for its support in the success of this project, and we look forward to implementing more joint projects that will enhance solar energy production in the region.” Leon Zhang, President of LONGi Europe, said: “This project exemplifies how global technology partnerships are accelerating the energy transition. Our Hi-MO 7 biphasic modules deliver superior energy gains and high performance rates, which is critical for maximizing the return on investment in large-scale installations. In partnership with Özgün İnşaat, we are setting a new standard for the future of these new energies in Algeria.
Supporting Algeria's Renewable Energy Goals The Hassi Delaa Laghouat solar power project is strategically located to support Algeria's renewable energy goals. Upon completion, this 362 MW DC project is expected to generate 700 GWh of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 450,000 tons. This partnership establishes a framework for future cooperation between LONGi and Özgün İnşaat in North Africa, underscoring their shared commitment to sustainable development and energy security.

Turkish company Özgün İnşaat has made a qualitative leap in the renewable energy sector by implementing two major solar power plant projects to support Algeria's energy transition. As part of the renewable energy program launched by the Algerian National Electricity Company (Sonelgaz), Özgün İnşaat is building the 362 MW Hassi Delaa solar power plant in in Laghouat Province, and the 82 MW El Guerrara solar power plant in Ghardaia Province.
These two projects will significantly contribute to Algeria's strategic goals of enhancing energy independence and ensuring environmental sustainability. They also form an integral part of a comprehensive program led by the Sonelgaz Group, which aims to promote energy independence, enhance environmental sustainability, and support economic development in Algeria. Özgün İnşaat has been entrusted with critical tasks, including the integration of utilities and the electricity transmission system. These projects highlight Özgün İnşaat's commitment to innovative engineering solutions and sustainability, further strengthening its mission to represent Türkiye on the global stage.
