TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto confirmed the incident. He said the submarine was thought to have disappeared in waters about 60 miles or about 95 kilometers from the north of Bali Island this morning at around 03.00. "Only when the dive permit was given, after being given the clearance, immediately lost contact," said Hadi.

Hadi hopes that the submarine can still be found. Currently, the TNI is deploying various warships to the scene. In addition, Indonesia has asked for help from Singapore and Australia which have submarine rescue vessels. There are allegations, the ship is now in a trough at a depth of 700 m. "Tomorrow I will immediately go to the location," said Hadi.

Edit: I don't think this is true. There is no way Navy do torpedo firing exercise in a such heavy traffic area (selat bali)

The loss of the trained crew member is worse than losing the sub itself.

Hope they find it soon.
Totally agree, and typically if there is no breach in the hull they have supply for a few days at least.
Hope they will be found as quick as possible. Rescue can take longer as long as they are supplied from the rescue ship.

Moreover when i was telling at least one rescue mothership should be present in Indonesian Navy, people were telling given amount of the submarines,it is a luxury. It is never a luxury a rescue ship costs way less than prestige and a trained crew. Moreover, a deep submarine rescue vehicle is not a necessary as well because it can be supplied from neighboring countries with airlift within hours.

Now all to be done is wait Singaporean and other rescue vessels to arrive at location of incident. Any other hydro-graphic survey ships in the region or deployed at nearby bases?

Submarine rescue vessel is a must have in the near future.
I always want our navy to have submarine rescue vessel.
We already sign an agreement with SG for resource sharing, we can ask for their help if we need it, until we get our own.
Masuk wishlist dulu.
Its good that we can ask SG help, but I always hope the day that we ask their help would never come.
😭😭😭
