Milliyet claims the F110 purchase is for 20 Block 10 jets and 8 spares, 48 total.
"Deliveries of the first batch of 20 KAAN Block-10 aircraft to the Air Force are scheduled to begin in 2028. Forty of the 48 engines planned to be procured from the U.S.—40 of which are twin-engine models—will be used in the serial production of the KAAN Block-10. Starting in 2028, the goal is to transition to domestically produced engines. Once the KAAN enters service, it will perform autonomous formation flights alongside the Anka-3 and Kızılelma unmanned combat aircraft. Thus, these two unmanned combat aircraft will serve as mission partners for the KAAN—an aircraft with stealth capabilities—sharing the same characteristics. The “Chameleon” UAV—which leaves an F-16 radar signature to deceive the enemy—and the “Super Şimşek,” which features loitering munition capabilities, will further enhance the capabilities of these three aircraft.
