Does anyone around here uses reddit? I have been there for few months and it feels like it is killing my brain cells everytime I am there. First I thought I needed to adapt and adjust myself with absolute free speech, culturally speaking. But now I feel like it is just too toxic and idiotic. Most of the redditors talks like either kids with doesn't live a real life or people with room-temperature-IQ. When it comes to outside world, most of them are tremendously ignorants yet so full of themselves. They seems to think themselves as some kind of intellectuals while making dumbest comments. Also, I thought given it was mostly left leaning it would be a tolerant place, but it seems like in general they are very much intolerant and dissimisive of anything non-western. Has Reddit always been like this?
Reddit inevitably devolved into a series of echo chambers. The entire site is a giant confirmation bias machine with its flawed upvote/downvote system. The biggest subreddits which should in theory have more debate are aggressively moderated and astroturfed into being cesspits of misinformation and propaganda.

The only good thing about is is niche hobby subreddits like woodworking, W40k, Elder Scrolls etc.

R/Europe constantly bitches and whines about Turks and Turkiye.

They treat us like the ultimate evil because Muh Evil Turks conquered Istanbul.

Somehow having an empire and ruling over people is only acceptable when Europeans or the white man does it but somehow to them the Turks are subhumans for doing the very exact thing.

Yes, Reddit has always been like this. It's only good when seeking advice for technical things or reviews on products. I'd say its gotten worse recently due to a rift between the company and moderators, a lot of major subreddits are turning into locked, private echo chambers. With all this said, I think Twitter is just as bad now, even worse actually.

When he first took over it pretty good. Now it's just a wasteland full of the bots, bad advice, misinformation and propaganda.

That said, TikTok and now Instagram are pretty bad too. Governments need to crack down on social media algorithms. I can see a wave of extremists being fuelled by a constant steam of propaganda which targets them through the algorithm.

Youtube has also been awful. Ian Macculm of forgotten weapons said his planning on phasing himself out of youtube.

I see forgotten weapons more like a history channel of weapons.

Youtube is full of clickbait and reaction bullshit videos.

Your garden variety of social media is zogged up to 11. Twitter was OK after Elon but they made him bend the knee.

YouTube is still my favorite. But I agree, it's gone downhill. The clickbait AI generated military videos are downright frustrating 🤣

I think what Elon has done is an overall positive thing. Not because it's more user friendly, but because it prevents institutional information restriction, propaganda and social engineering to some extent.

Around there was 2015 a wave of online white nationalists created by the algorithm (alt-right). They banned them all after Trump got elected. There weren't any in 2018. But this process of banning extremists turns the platforms into trash because it's always a one way deal. Leftist extremists are never banned. So I say let the right wing extremists stay, too.

Even the 4chan got affected after Trump. /b/ board used to be the beating heart of the internet zeitgeist.
The sheer amount of memes which got their start on /b/ is staggering. Rick Astley owes his career resurgence to them.

Now its all low-quality Mossad divide and conquer psyops, brainlet-tier rage-bait and black dick worship. Its sad.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Iraq is described as the most critical visit in history. An extraordinary air protection shield was created before the visit. Erdogan will be accompanied by the 152nd Fleet.

Typically, minimal information is provided before and during these important visits.
It is also not indicated here which aircraft will lead this fleet?
But we, as experienced specialists, can guess for ourselves... :)
