AK rounds don't have the range for this but using programmable airburst grenade launcher this would actually work really well. No need to have a separate head mounted display, you can just use a digital sight on the weapon itself. These already exist. Soldier holds down the trigger and aims the weapon where the sight tells him to, and when its in the right spot it shoots. And when the soldier isn't shooting drones the grenade launcher still functions like normal - he's not carrying useless weight everywhere in case a drone is overhead.
The helmet mount is for 360 coverage of the sky with a 360 lens or 3x 120 degr e lens. After the detector detects the location of the drone the soldier can be directed to point the gun in that direction. The detecter sistem is like a watchkeeper. Once the gun is pointed to the direction of the incoming target the sighting system on the gun can take precise aim using whatever technology like optical image detection or whatever else the target whows. Your suggested existing technology works only after the shooter marks the target as the intended target AFAIK. But looking at the sky the target can be determined faster. I am thinking a laser gun can also work but it will need a good amount of battery baggage.

It can work in many different ways. You can have just a ballistics computer + digital sight in the launcher and get networked 3D targeting data from a big brigade level air search radar. Or you could have an optical detector on a helmet and then you would have 2 options: a LOS anti-drone weapon (laser, jammer, etc), or have a laser rangefinder on the launcher to get a firing solution and hit it with an airburst grenade. However I prefer the grenade launcher option because otherwise the soldier is always carrying around a laser/jammer which is just dead weight most of the time.

Hence my initial suggestion of using a 5.56 machine gun for the purpose. Sarsılmaz or Kale are already making such a gun. Even a regular infantry rifle will do the job. These are squad level available guns. 30 pieces of lead projectiles with 1800 jules of energy each will rain on a target from a lightweight infantry rifle. the only catch is reaction time must be small. So a fast detection and reaction is necessary. If a miniaturized helmet mounted detection device does the detection and helps the soldier to immediately point the rifle in the direction of the target it can possibly be stopped at hundreds of meters from the soldiers. If this can be made to work it can be the most practical solution.

A rare radar

The occupiers lost in Chornobayivka an valuable and rare 8Ya6-К1 Podlet low-altitude surveillance radar for the S-400 complex. This radar provides target guidance for the S-300 and S-400 surface-to-air missile systems.

This is the second radar to have been destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Moreover, it’s happened in the same direction: the first system was destroyed in July near Nova Kakhovka.

not good. not at all.

Erdogan apparently said that SAMPT / Aster negotiations are moving ahead.

I guess the reason for the interest from the Turkish side is to save time when it comes to the anti-ballistic air defense systems. Turkey is already on a good way to making the siper block 1, so I don't see any reason besides saving time.

I agree. But time is most important thing nowadays.

Turkiye is a country of over 80 million people and doesn't have an anti-ballistic capable SAM system. We need a stop gap solution urgently until missile defence capable Siper is ready.

If Turkiye can secure its territory not depending on NATO systems it will be both good for Turkiye and also for NATO as there will be no need to stretch NATO's anti-balllistic missile defence systems. The turbulent times in which we live and the geographical placement of Turkiye on the map are a very serious factors for Turkey to consider a stop gap ABM capable air defence system and Aster 30 Block 1NT is the perfect candidate.

Plus, if we can get back in to the joint development and production program like we were supposed to, just think of all the know how we will have access to. In addition we will learn how to counteract this missile. (As the new ships Greece is buying will have this missile on board)

When we first signed the declaration of intent with France and Italy in 2017 and later the contract to study possible joint development in 2018, we were nowhere as far advanced in air defence area as we are now. Then, it was our cheap labour cost and may be a limited potential technical input that seemed attractive. Today we are in a much better position, almost on par with the western counterparts in terms of technical advancements. Or at least on the way of getting there shortly. So it is of great benefit to the Samp-t consortium to include Turkey in to the fold. It, infact, it is a win win situation for both parties.

Breaking:
Mete Yarar says a new SİPER test was conducted today (17 nov) and SIPER "broke its own range record", official announcement expected soon:

This is getting crazy, we used to whine about Hisar-A / O range few years ago and now we are talking about 100+ km range ( maybe even 110 at the last test) for a quadpackable 5.3 meter long missile

6 years is how far behind SAMPT we are considering we have gained the same capability as the earlier version of it just now. So the SAMPT acquisition can buy us some time but when will it be completed. If we can get to that level by our own means at about the same time SAMPT is to be delivered than what is the point. Looks like it is our plan B.

Another fire test of the National Long-Range Region Air and Missile Defense System SİPER was successfully carried out.

DEVELOPMENT BLOCK I Air Defense Missile, developed by Roketsan, broke its own range record. The missile is now certain to hit its 90-100 kilometer range target.

Is this max range or effective range? And what is max altitude?

So far all the announced ranges for our SAMs were focused on effective ranges it is safe to assume that it is the case and target for BLOCK I as well ...previous hit was at +26000 feet unfortunatly this is the max altitude for a Banshee 80 target drone:devilish:

Most likely, SavunmaSanayiST quoted the news from the speeches of MeteYarar that was shared a few post ago. It will be useful to look at the previous messages to prevent repeated/dublicated posts and not share if the new post doesn't contain anything new bro.

The most likely ballistic missile attack towards Turkey is Iran followed by Russia, Imo, from the look (and size) of it, Siper is capable against TBM/SRBM missiles. Is there any plan to upgrade the booster to be able to tackle MRBM and IRBM missile that Iran operate ?
