You sure european has no equivalent? Afaik, turkish systems like korkut is a copy of oerlikon skyshield, skyranger and mantis.
And germany already shown their directed energy weapon way before turkey did.
You are missing the whole point, EU does not offer that as a "whole" system, while TR does. EU offers expensive systems to stop cheap kamikaze drones. While TR has Şahin 40mm smart munition system, numerous light EW based drone defences that can be mounted even on 4x4s or Toyotas.
Also, SPAAG is a concept from WWII, no doubts TR was adopting smart munition (AHEAD) or replicating the tech, however if you did little search TAF also evaluated Mantis in the program and then opted for upgrade of Oerlikon GDFs and mount the cannons on tracked platforms to maximize efficiency in finances, logistics, adaptability by little trade-off in the performance (2 cannons instead of 1, even provides an increase in survivability if a cannon fails unexpectedly)
If i recall, Skyshield / Skyranger / Mantis (without missiles) is a very expensive system and Korkut does the same amount of the work with an onboard FCR with1/3th (wo FCR on skyranger) or less cost.
Should i state the fact both Korkut and laser systems met battlefield long before than German systems even proven at the battlefield?. We all have seen Ukrainians complaining about how "ineffective" PzH2000 with involved complexity and maintenance while Polish systems were easy to maintain and operate. Probably same would apply for this SPAAG too.
