Hi people. I'm new to the forum, but have been following this forum and the 'other' one since 2012. I wanted to point out that the modernised Leo still looks like it has a L44 gun. This brings a question of whether the turret is straight from Altay or its a upgraded Leo turret.

And it's not the first time, in Turkey somebody doing experiment. Turrets differ the thing we see on the top of M113 is monstrous.
More over world kind of agreed on that, no need to put tank turrets on vehicles other tanks. As when those vehicles met with tanks in the battlefield, without armour they always get defeated. So, it's not a used concept.

Americans used MGS quite effectively in Iraq, but I agree - faced with tanks they have no chance.

Yeah, maybe can be used against a very weak opponent or in terror operations. Still, i don't think that our military brass would want that.

I really dont want to be 'that' guy in spoiling everyone's excitement and fun but this is pretty pointless and stupid imo. Where do i start with this. Whats the point in developing a Leopard modernization that looks to be far more expensive, non-modular and time consuming to make. The Firat package is already ideal enough. All you did was bulk the tank up which makes it an easier target and adds unneccesary weight. I dont even want to get started on the logistics of putting an entire freaking Altay turret on a Leopard Chassis. This all seems soo ridicilously pointless to me.
