Americans are retiring the Ah1z viper.

They should sell them to the Turkish Naval aviation fleet but they wont 😡
We have gone past buying US’s second hand garbage.
Those AH1Z Vipers are not the right helicopters for our frigates and for TCG Anadolu. We have transferred the super cobras to Anadolu because we had no other choice. But the first T929s will hopefully be navalised version of this helicopter, and they will do justice to our new LHD. For the frigates we need a multi purpose helicopter like Seahawk. Not a solitary attack helicopter. So we need to find a way to navalise our Blackhawks or go for the AW101.

Does Ukraine produce "navalized" engines which are suitable for T929?
If the jet turbine engine has been manufactured with the right alloys and materials that can withstand corrosion and the engine inlets are washed with special soap regularly, cleaned and well covered after each use, there should be no problem with the engines. Soviets have been well known for their rugged engines in sea salt environments.
When we talk about navalising airframes it is basically the body, the paint, avionics and the collapsible wings and rotors that need attention.
When a jet turbine engine takes in salty sea air in, it will just burn it and exhaust it. Normally it shouldn’t adversely affect the engine. Although titanium parts do get more stress cracks under salty conditions, it has not caused problems. There is still a lot of development work being carried out to decrease the effect of sea salt corrosion on jet engine parts by introducing other elements in to the alloys used.

Atak-2 project is at least 3 years old and there is not any Türk engine alternative of it. Mr. Mahmut Akşit clearly states the capabilities of their team regarding it. I can not understand why the project has not already started or even planned.

Can someone please explain me why Türkiye does not have an engine project for Atak 2?

That's because attacking every market niche come with a political cost as well as financial. We have GE as a partner in TEI and also there are other makers that we have relations with. Your every move makes a dent on somebody else's market share and they may want to resist. We take it nice and easy and make it smooth sailing.

Looks amazing. What I'd like to know is, are we contractually bound to produce a limited amount of these, or this T70 project will be like T129 in its scope?

Really like to see some T70 seahawks!
If memory serves, for every one we buy, one more can be exported. Or something along those lines.
So 109 units order placed for Turkish use. But there will be 109 units that will be exported. Whether that export responsibility is on Sikorsky or on us I can’t remember.
Over all Sikorsky and Tusas predicts there will be nearly 600 units that can be sold in the vicinity of our region during the course of next couple of decades.

So would I!
