Possible sale of 48 Nora B52 howitzers to Azerbaijan.

Serbian president Vucic said in September 2023 that Serbia was going to sign a defence industry contract worth at least 300 million (eur?) with Azerbaijan. He described this as “largest contract for Serbian defence industry”.

“Yes, Serbia has 61% exchange with the EU, China is growing significantly, but also Asian countries, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia... Our biggest contract will be with Azerbaijan for a dedicated industry worth 300 million, for us the EU is still the most important, but it is now Serbia's way. Will it be different? It is very possible - says the president”

This month Vucic stated that Serbia was going to sign a contract for 48 Nora B52 with a “friendly country”. Algerian twitter accounts claimed that Vucic must have meant Algeria by “friendly country” (since there were reports that Algeria was interested in Nora B52).

"Our dedicated industry will receive probably the biggest contract on Monday or Tuesday with a friendly country that is not in a current war and that is looking for 48 Nora howitzers," Vucic told Pink TV, according to Tanjug.”

However, Vucic made a new statement few days later saying that the contract worth 311 million eur was signed with this “friendly country”, and that it’s not a country located in Africa.

“Regarding the large contract for dedicated industry that he previously announced, he informed that the agreement has already been signed, but that he could not give details yet, except that it is not an African country. Certainly, the value in question is 311 million euros.”

The number voiced by Vucic certainly matches the number he said about the contract with Azerbaijan.

Vucic said it is not an African country, see the third quote and link.

I’m pretty sure Algeria is located in Africa? And is there any other source saying it’s Algeria apart from Algerian twitter accounts? Because even in their case it was a guess based on Algeria’s reported interest previously.

Otherwise, the mentioned contract value also matches with the previous statement about Azerbaijan.

Nora is a great system, judging by the price tag, its probably the Nora B52 NG, worth mentioning Serbia also just signed major gas deal with Azerbaijan

Nora B52 NG is a fully automated system, similar to Archer

14 km (out of 23 km) of Murovdag tunnel completed.

This project will connect Kalbajar district to Göygöl district via north, through Murovdag mountain range. Should be the third longest road tunnel in the world upon completion in 2025.

They are buying 15 batteries. If it is not the Akash NG (it is probably not) then it is not gonna make a serious difference.

The new President of Maldives will be in Ankara soon. That's his first foreign trip , since winning the election. Always but always, Maldivian president visited Delhi first. It is the time for Azerbaijan to invest a bit if money in Maldivies. It is great opportunity. Quo Pro QUO would be nice if Azerbaijani diplomats in Ankara, can meet our dear brother.

Lmao, imagine paying 600 mil for a basically upgraded Soviet 2K12 Kub, the missiles look literally identical

I'm glad Armenia is wasting their money at unproven Indian weapons
When something looks like another that doesnt mean its an copy or upgraded varient of it 👃. The Barak 8 that you use was co produced by us and the israelis lol and we have a BMD system to shoot ballistic missiles and satellites and we have shown it being done. Anti aircraft system may be some complex technology for some but its a walk in the park for us.

co-produced? Lmao, at best Israel made it seem like you were part of development to get sales from India, Israel has sold Barak MX to Morocco and Azerbaijan for billions, did India get any part of that deal as a co-producer? No, because you are not an equal partner LOL

Does India have manufacturing share in the BARAK-8 that Israel sells? Afaik no.
Although, Is it 'jointly' developed because India funded the program but it was Israel that transferred the technology if I am not mistaken. However, India did catch up with AD development lately. AKASH-NG and AD-1 is a good example.

Yes, it was ToT, if India was a co-developer, Israel would need to approve sales of Barak to export customers through India first and also provide parts of the contract to India.

Better get more information on that buddy Barack system can be now considered having its own versions that both countries produced on their own after the first variants. Israel went into produce its own long range 150km variants while india went on to produce MRSAM which has its own army and airforce variants 😑All Indian orders are done by BDL. If Armenia wants MRSAM from India the orders Will be done by BDL and not Israel just like what happend to the other orders that you mentioned. The fun fact is that we are making it more indigenous by removing israeli systems in it which is different from "certain" countries who grift on other countries achievements and has nothing to add on their own and add joint fighter and green paint on it.
